How To Apply Future Cruise Credit?

Future Cruise Credit (FCC) is a convenient way to apply your cruise credit towards existing reservations or book another vacation for the future. It can be applied towards your next cruise fare or contribute to a travel companion’s fare on your booking. You can redeem your FCC online or through your Travel Advisor. To use your FCC, log in to CruisingPower.com and find FCCs listed on My Account Page. Log in using your Mariner ID or email address, search for your Holland America cruise, select Cruise Credit Contact us, and contact your Travel Advisor if you made the original reservation through them.

To apply an FCC to an existing reservation, complete the request to Apply a Future Cruise Credit, even if the FCC was generated through a different method. You can apply your FCC as payment on a new or existing future booking by applying it as payment online or by contacting your travel agent. Most cruise lines only allow a FCC to be applied to a new booking. If you need to apply your FCC to a balance due on an existing booking, call 1-800-377-9383 to speak with one of our cruise consultants and apply your Future Cruise Credit. We are happy to help, even if you didn’t book the cruise.

Often the dollar value is 100% of the amount the passenger paid. But during the COVID-19 pandemic, some lines have offered passengers future cruise credits with a dollar amount of 125%, 150% or even 200% of the amount the passenger paid for a canceled cruise.

When will my future cruise credit arrive?. Most cruise lines typically have issued FCCs within a couple of weeks after the cancellation has been announced, but other cruise lines can take weeks or months to process them. World Travel Holdings’ cruise brand websites have a help center that provides guidance on when FCCs will arrive.

Can I use future cruise credit to pay deposit?

Depending on cruise line, FCCs likely also cannot be used towards port taxes and fees, prepaid gratuities, shore excursions, or onboard spending. Our Travel Agents can help guide you through getting the most out of your FCC.

However, you do not need to wait to receive your FCC to book your next cruise! Since most FCCs must be applied post-deposit, you can reserve and pay the deposit now and use your FCC to pay the remaining balance. In some instances, our Travel Agents can hold your reservation while waiting for the cruise line to send your FCC.

Can I get a refund on my future cruise credit?

  • If a refund is approved, all FCCs (including Bonus FCCs) will be deactivated, and a refund will be issued back to the original form of payment, within 90 days from the request submission date.
  • Any existing 10% Future Cruise Discounts will remain active and available for use on future bookings.
  • For guests who are no longer able to travel as a result of an official announcement by a government or agency that takes place within 14 days of sailing (when Peace of Mind is no longer available), and the mandate states guests are NOT allowed to travel, then a refund would be available. If the new mandate is an inconvenience to the guest, i.e. a new quarantine requirement upon return from travel (but not a travel ban), then an FCC would be offered.

Only new government or agency mandates would be considered. Anything in place already since April 2021 would not allow the guest to cancel and receive the above.

How long does it take to get future cruise credit?

The amount of time that it takes to issue an FCC can vary and is heavily dependent upon the type of FCC, as well as the volume. For Cruise with Confidence and Remaining Balance FCCs, the process typically takes no more than 2-weeks from the date of cancellation.

Can I get a refund instead of future cruise credit?

If we cancel a voyage, or delay embarkation by three days or more and you elect not to sail on the delayed voyage or a substitute voyage we offer, you can obtain a refund or a future cruise credit (FCC). Although our practice is to issue a future cruise credit automatically, you may insteadcontact us to request a refund. Refund requests must be made within six months of the date the cruise was cancelled or the scheduled embarkation date, whichever is earlier.

Please note this policy does not apply to guests booked on chartered sailings. If you were booked on a chartered sailing that was canceled or embarkation was delayed by three or more days, and you wish to inquire about refunds or future credits, you must contact the third party reseller that sold you the cruise.

Redeeming onboard credit Once on board, you can use Onboard Credit on shore excursions, specialty dining, spa treatments, beverage packages and more. Future Cruise Credits(“FCC(s)”) may be awarded to guests for many reasons, including if their cruise is cancelled. Princess may sometimes also elect to award a good-will FCC, or bonus FCC. FCCs issued in lieu of refunds are refundable (“Refundable FCCs”); otherwise FCCs are not refundable (“Nonrefundable FCCs”). Guests understand that they have no right to obtain a Bonus FCC in any situation and such Bonus FCCs are good-will gestures only and have no cash value and cannot be returned or refunded. FCCs issued by Princess Cruises may only be used on a Princess Cruise booking. FCCs must be used before their stated expiration (book by and sail by) date.

FCCs may be applied as a form of payment towards your balance due and therefore, in accordance with our passenger contract, FCCs are subject to cancellation fees. If an FCC has been applied as a form of payment, Princess will first deduct any imposed cancellation fee from such FCC before assessing cancellation fees on other forms of payment. This means cancellation fees may be incurred by someone else on your booking who may or may not have applied FCCs of their own. Cancellation fees will be deducted from any used FCCs prior to being returned to the guest’s My Princess Account (if applicable). In the event any guest believes any cancellation fees have been applied in error, they shouldcontact us.

In the event an FCC being returned to My Princess Account is expired, if the FCC is a Refundable FCC (in which case it will be labeled with a cash value), Princess will refund its remaining cash value to the associated Captain Circle Number (CCN). Nonrefundable FCCs (which are not labeled with a cash value) will expire with no refund. Cancellation of a Refundable FCC (cash value) will automatically cancel any bonus FCCs related to the original. In the event a Bonus FCC is used, portions of the related cash value FCC may become non-refundable also.
