How To Use Future Cruise Credit Royal Caribbean?

Royal Caribbean has announced a major enhancement to the process of redeeming Future Cruise Credits (FCCs) through Cruisingpower and Espresso. FCCs are essentially vouchers for future travel, with a monetary amount associated with them. They can be used for new bookings on the Royal Caribbean website, and can be applied just like any form of payment. To redeem FCCs, customers must shop the site for the cruise they want, select their cabin type and location, enter their personal information, and enter their guests’ Future Cruise Credit number.

To redeem FCCs, customers can shop the site for the cruise they want, select their cabin type and location, enter their personal information, and enter their guests’ FCC number. They can apply their FCC online or through their Travel Advisor. FCCs do not cover taxes fees or other expenses.

To redeem FCCs, customers must rebook the desired future ship and sail date, pay the requested deposit on the booking to hold the reservation, and apply the FCC. Deposits as low as 100 per person on select fares are available. Customers can also handpick their stateroom or suite from the broadest selection and book up to three staterooms for themselves. The full value of each certificate is shown in Espresso on the Reservation Summary page in a section labeled Future Cruise Credit.

How do Royal Caribbean credits work?

You may have seen deals that include onboard credit and wondered what that entails. Onboard credit — otherwise known as OBC or “cruise cash” — is a promotion that offers cruisers a dollar amount to use toward onboard spending. It is loaded automatically onto your SeaPass® card, the personal onboard expense account you’ll use for all your onboard expenditures, and credits are automatically applied to all purchases made on board. Think of it as a gift card from Royal Caribbean.

Though the timing of promotions varies, the credit is issued before you cruise and can be spent on the My Royal Cruise portal even before you board. And here’s the really fun part: it can be applied toward a wide array of goods and services, including massages and celebratory bottles of bubbly. But there’s a motto for how to treat your cruise credit: Use it or lose it! Credits are nonrefundable and nontransferable, so read on for our list of seven of the best ways to use your onboard cruise credit.

Can I use future cruise credit to pay deposit?

Most cruise lines require the Future Cruise Credit (FCC) to be used for the cruise fare and cannot be used for the deposit. Depending on cruise line, FCCs likely also cannot be used towards port taxes and fees, prepaid gratuities, shore excursions, or onboard spending. Our Travel Agents can help guide you through getting the most out of your FCC.

However, you do not need to wait to receive your FCC to book your next cruise! Since most FCCs must be applied post-deposit, you can reserve and pay the deposit now and use your FCC to pay the remaining balance. In some instances, our Travel Agents can hold your reservation while waiting for the cruise line to send your FCC.

Please call to speak with a Travel Agent today to get the most out of your FCC – even if you initially booked with the cruise line.

Can I get a refund instead of future cruise credit?

If we cancel a voyage, or delay embarkation by three days or more and you elect not to sail on the delayed voyage or a substitute voyage we offer, you can obtain a refund or a future cruise credit (FCC). Although our practice is to issue a future cruise credit automatically, you may insteadcontact us to request a refund. Refund requests must be made within six months of the date the cruise was cancelled or the scheduled embarkation date, whichever is earlier.

Please note this policy does not apply to guests booked on chartered sailings. If you were booked on a chartered sailing that was canceled or embarkation was delayed by three or more days, and you wish to inquire about refunds or future credits, you must contact the third party reseller that sold you the cruise.

Can I get a refund on my future cruise credit?

  • If a refund is approved, all FCCs (including Bonus FCCs) will be deactivated, and a refund will be issued back to the original form of payment, within 90 days from the request submission date.
  • Any existing 10% Future Cruise Discounts will remain active and available for use on future bookings.
  • For guests who are no longer able to travel as a result of an official announcement by a government or agency that takes place within 14 days of sailing (when Peace of Mind is no longer available), and the mandate states guests are NOT allowed to travel, then a refund would be available. If the new mandate is an inconvenience to the guest, i.e. a new quarantine requirement upon return from travel (but not a travel ban), then an FCC would be offered.

Only new government or agency mandates would be considered. Anything in place already since April 2021 would not allow the guest to cancel and receive the above.
