Margaritaville at Sea Paradise is a cruise ship owned by Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line and operating for Margaritaville at Sea. Built in 1991 in Italy for Costa Cruises, it was renamed Grand Classica in 2000 after a planned lengthening and refit was cancelled. The company is expected to add more ships to its future fleet, with Margaritaville Paradise being the first one. The deal was signed by John Cohlan.
Margaritville at Sea Islander, a Spirit-class cruise ship previously owned by Carnival Corporation plc, was built in 2000 by Kvaerner Masa-Yards Helsinki. On October 16, 2023, Carnival Corporation officially confirmed the sale of the 23-year-old Costa Atlantica to a yet-to-be-revealed buyer. The new 30-year-old cruise ship rebranded Margaritaville at Sea Paradise is ready to start the latest adaptation of a well-known consumer brand into the cruise industry.
Margaritville Resorts Hotels will operate a cruise brand in 2022, announced a partnership with Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line. Margaritaville Bahamas Paradise CEO Oneil Khosa stated that the brand will start off operating as Bahamas Paradise did, with elevated onboard experiences. In May 2022, the company was rebranded to Margaritaville at Sea following a partnership between Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line and Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville at Sea. The Margaritaville cruise brand was launched in 2022 as a partnership between the former Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line and Margaritaville Enterprises.
