Which Cruise Line Has Go Karts?

Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest mega-ship, the Norwegian Viva, is set to launch with a variety of amenities including a go-kart track, infinity pools, and an open-air food hall. The go-karts on Norwegian Cruise Line are electric-powered racecars, with no more than 10 cars allowed on the track at once. The extra deck allows Prima Speedways designers to make the go-kart road 22% longer than the track on Norwegian’s last new ship, Norwegian Encore. The Norwegian Primas go-kart track is the cruise line’s biggest yet.

The Norwegian Bliss cruise ship has an incredible two-level race track on deck, where passengers can compete against each other. Norwegian Cruise Line now has four ships with go-kart tracks, including the Norwegian Joy, Norwegian Encore, Norwegian Prima, Norwegian Viva, and Norwegian Bliss. The Norwegian Joy was originally used for Asian itineraries but has been redesigned after a $50 million makeover.

Norwegian Cruise Line will soon offer three ships with go-kart tracks on board, including a two-story track on its new ship Encore. Norwegian Viva will offer eight-, nine-, and 10-day trips starting June 15, 2023, starting at 2,099 per person for the ships first trip. Some of the craziest activities on cruise ships include full-length karting tracks, ziplines, boomerang slides, and more.

Does the Norwegian Breakaway have go karts?

Conclusion. The Norwegian Cruise Line Breakaway Plus Class Speedways feature race tracks that span two decks, and with the introduction of the Norwegian Prima Class ships, there is now a race track spanning three decks! I am eager to see the innovation and thrills that the newest Norwegian Speedway is sure to bring onboard the cruise line’s newest ship this summer – the Norwegian Viva.

I had a thrilling time participating in Norwegian Cruise Line’s, revolutionary Speedway at sea experience! Because this is truly a fun and entertaining activity onboard, I would personally recommend it to all guests choosing to sail with a Norwegian Cruise Line vessel that features the Speedway!

This unique experience has the potential to create once in a lifetime memories for cruisers, and therefore should definitely be on your list of must-do activities onboard your next Norwegian Cruise Line sailing.

What happened to the Norwegian Encore?

On November 9, 2022, the Norwegian Cruise line ship the Encorewas sailing in Panama City as part of a 21-day Seattle to Miami Panama Canal cruise when a gangway suddenly collapsed. A gangway on a cruise ship is often a sharply raised walkway which allows passengers to board and exit the cruise ship at ports of call. Cruise ships are responsible for providing passengers with safe entry and exit of cruise ships.

Although the Norwegian Cruise line spokesperson has not currently released information regarding the number of cruise ship guests that were injured, why the gangway collapsed, or how severe the victim’s injuries were at the time of this article, maritime injuries of this nature are known for producing life-threatening injuries. Victims may have multiple opportunities to hold negligent parties accountable for their recklessness across multiple avenues.

Liability For Gangway Accidents on Cruise Ships and Other Vessels. Before victims of gangway accidents and cruise ship injuries can recover compensation for their damages, proving liability and negligence will be of utmost importance. There are often multiple parties who could share liability for victim’s suffering.

Ten laps around the track on both Norwegian Joy and Norwegian Bliss costs $15. Or you can purchase an unlimited go-karting package for $199 per cruise.

What It Is. Cruisers on Norwegian Cruise Line ships with go-karts can fulfill their racecar driver fantasies at this fast-paced attraction atop select ships. The two-level track is designed for speed, and drivers take full advantage, zipping around the S-shaped track at top speed. But what is it exactly? The go-karts on Norwegian Cruise Line are electric-powered racecars. They are not, as you will be repeatedly told, bumper cars. No more than 10 cars can be on the track at once, and while drivers race around the curves, trying to pass each other, there is no official race occurring. You can drive at your own speed, but no more than 30 miles per hour.

Cars are easy to operate; there’s a green pedal underneath the right foot for gas, and a red pedal beneath the left foot for the brake. There is a green button on the steering wheel that boosts the car’s power (perfect for going up the hill from Deck 19 to 20), and a blue button for reversing (just in case you do crash into one of the tire bumpers that line the track). Drivers are instructed to hold their hands in the 10 and 2 o’clock positions at all times and all turns should be hard turns.
