The Port of Hilo is located on the east coast of Hawaii’s Big Island, near the Hilo International Airport and approximately 2 miles (3 km) from the Hilo Town Center. Cruise ships dock at piers in Kuhio Bay on Kuhio St, approximately 2 miles east of downtown. Shuttles may be provided to Walmart at Prince Kuhio Plaza Mall two miles south of the pier. The Downtown Farmers Market may also offer a free shuttle.
The port is mostly a cargo port but does offer shuttle services to downtown or the farmers market. Cruise passengers are often greeted by a show that includes traditional Hawaiian music and dancing.
