The ports schedule lists all ships with cruises going to or leaving from Hilo, Hawaii Island. To see the full itineraries (ports of call dates and arrival departure times) and their lowest rates, follow the corresponding ship-link. Cruise passengers can drive around the 11-mile rim of the crater or tour the dramatic lava formations of Volcanoes National Park. Akaka Falls, where the water drops more than 400 feet into a pool below, is also a popular destination.
The Port of Hilo is situated on the east coast of Hawaii’s Big Island, near the Hilo International Airport and approximately 2 miles (3 km) from the Hilo Town Center. A free shuttle bus from the Hilo Hattie store takes passengers from the port to the center of the city and allows them to do some shopping. If you have rented a car, a shuttle will take you there.
There are six Hawaii cruise ports that cruise ships can dock or tender at: Honolulu Pier 2 Cruise Terminal on Oahu (minutes from Waikiki Beach), Port of Hilo on the Big Island (Hilo, East Hawaii); Kailua Pier (tender). Cruise ships to Hilo dock at a cargo facility located 2 miles east of downtown. There is not much to see or do at the cruise port, so the cruise ships dock at piers in Kuhio Bay on Kuhio St approximately 2 miles east of downtown. Shuttles may be provided to Hilo and Nawiliwili, which are day time ports with departure times set by a designated time. Lahaina has a little bit of a difference.
