When Is The Kenduskeag Canoe Race?

The Kenduskeag Stream Canoe Race, held annually on the third weekend of April, is one of the largest paddling events in New England and one of the largest in the country. The race, which begins at 10 am on Saturday, April 20th, 2024, is now open for early registration. The cost is $50 until April 1st, with 65pp available for April 2024.

The race will take place from Six Mile Falls in Bangor to the Penobscot River in downtown Bangor. The 16 12-mile race begins at 10 a.m. and goes from Kenduskeag Village to the Penobscot River. The event has been running 44 times, with Larry Merrill being a familiar face for the race.

The 57th annual Kenduskeag Stream Canoe Race, held annually on the third weekend of April, is the largest paddling event in New England and one of the largest in the country. The event saw 740 racers and 402 boats navigate the 16.5-mile course. Early registration is now open at the Bangor Parks Recreation website.

The race is known for its vivid costumed paddlers, who make their way through Six Mile Falls in Bangor during the 57th running. The race is held on Saturdays, April 15th, 16th, 17th, and 18th, with TV5 providing live coverage.
