Can You Bring A Shaving Razor On A Cruise?

Cruise lines have different rules regarding razors, including whether to bring them in carry-on or checked luggage. Some cruise lines allow guests to bring a safety razor onboard, while others require them to be packed in checked luggage. However, there are no restrictions on the types of razors allowed on a cruise ship.

Prohibited items include knives, sharp objects, straight razor blades, and open personal grooming devices such as hair dryers, flat irons, curling irons, shavers, and other electrical devices. Guests should also avoid packing sharp objects like knives and scissors, with some exceptions. Personal grooming items such as safety razors are permitted.

Some items that typically won’t be allowed on board include CBD products, fireworks, and hoverboards. However, disposable razors and cartridges are acceptable for carrying on. Loose razor blades, single or double-edged, are not allowed, but cartridges and disposable razors can be carried on as long as they are packed in a checked bag for airlines.

Safety razors and cartridges are allowed in carry-on bags, but loose razor blades must be held in the custody of the Guest Services Manager or Chief Security Officer. Sharp objects, including all knives and scissors, are allowed, but scissors with a blade length less than 4 are not allowed and cannot be used in the cabin.

Other cruise lines, like Disney, prohibit knives regardless of blade length, including straight razors. Safety razors for personal grooming are allowed on all cruise ships.
