Would Trump Harm Travel To The Us?

The head of the world’s largest hotel company has warned that Donald Trump’s immigration policies are damaging the US tourism industry. Some foreign tourists have blamed the Trump administration for a sharp downturn in international tourist arrivals in 2017, as measured last. Travel experts began warning even before the 2016 election that Donald Trump’s campaign rhetoric could cause a decline in tourism.

Trump’s immigration policies have fuelled “anti-US sentiment” around the world, expected to lead to significant falls in traveller numbers to the country. Travel to the United States has dropped as much as 16% in the months since President Donald Trump took office, and there is no sign of recovery. The Trump Slump is attributed to travel bans and increased security protocols.

The Trump Administration has done nothing to discourage tourism. If he wins his lawsuit, Donald Trump remains erratic and inconsistent when it comes to foreign policy. However, the broader Republican foreign policy ecosystem forming might affect tourism, including foreign travel to the United States, Americans traveling abroad, access to Cuba, the cost of airfare, and more.

Travel to the U.S. has been declining since Donald Trump took office, leading to a cost of $4.6 billion in spending and 40,000 jobs. If he wins a second term, former President Trump will aim to boost US oil and gas output, making it easier to raise demand than supply.

In conclusion, the influences of Trump’s presidency on American tourism will be on both sides, affecting the destination image and the overall economy.
