Who Owns The White Rabbit Yacht?

Singapore-based billionaire Goh Cheng Liang, also known as Goh Cheng Leong, is the owner of the 84m (276ft) White Rabbit Golf Trimaran Super Yacht, valued at US100 million. The yacht, built by Australian yard Echo Yachts to a design by Sam Sorgiovanni, was handed over to its owner on 1 September. The yacht boasts naval architecture from Echo Yachts and One2Three, with Australian designer Sam Sorgiovanni designing both the interior and exterior.

Liang has owned several yachts called White Rabbit, including the original three-hulled 61-meter White Rabbit from 1989 to 1995. The 84.04 m motor yacht has a volume of 2,940 GT and was delivered at the end of 2018 to Echo Yachts. It is the largest trimaran in the world, the largest boat built in Australia, and the largest aluminium yacht ever built.

The 84m275ft superyacht is the world’s largest tri-hulled yacht and the largest ever yacht to be built in Australia. The yacht’s top speed is 18.0 kn and it boasts a 40.8-metre Benetti motor yacht Orenda, which is on the market with Richard Gray of IYC.

Liang’s contribution to the world of yacht owners comes with his impressive 84-metre trimaran yacht, the White Rabbit. Developed by Echo Yachts, the Australian yard responsible for White Rabbit, estimates the yacht was built specifically for sailing in the Pacific Rim. Like Double Haven, White Rabbit had an incredibly long range and included a most comprehensive underwater system.

I am a school teacher who was bitten by the travel bug many decades ago. My husband Billy has come along for the ride and now shares my dream to travel the world with our three children. The kids Pollyanna, 13, Cooper, 12 and Tommy 9 are in love with plane trips (thank goodness) and discovering new places, experiences and of course Disneyland.

  • Thank you for this article, I didn’t realise there was a company in Australia who built superyachts. I’ll definitely check them out. As much as I like the Italian & Turkish builders it would be difficult to either check progress or have it delivered to Australia. If I can get what I want from an Australian builder then it’s a no brainer, if not it will have to be built where I can get what I want.

  • Hi David, I have a question about the support yacht. If the owner wanted to travel, let’s say the 5,000 miles the main yacht can do, how does the support yacht keep up? Is it sent to certain destinations/ pitstops along the route ahead of time or arrives long after White Rabbit has reached the destination? I’m curious how it keeps up, considering it has the toys and helicopter.
