Which Chevy Has Super Cruise?

Super Cruise is a hands-free driver assistance technology that is now available on more Chevy vehicles than ever before. It is the first true hands-free driver assistance technology for compatible roads and is now available on select 2023 vehicles, including the midsize Traverse, Cadillac LYRIQ 10, and GMC HUMMER EV SUV 11. The system works with the vehicle’s Adaptive Cruise Control† system, which detects vehicles in your path, accelerates or brakes based on Super Cruise.

Super Cruise is available on the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV in conjunction with the Super Cruise Package, tagged with RPO code WK7. For the first time in the Chevy Traverse’s history, Super Cruise will be available to equip. A majority of trim levels, including the LT, Z71, and RS, will have Super Cruise available. With an ever-growing network, select eligible Chevrolet vehicles can use Super Cruise on over 400,000 miles of compatible roads throughout the United States and Canada.

The Super Cruise feature is available as standard on many new Chevy vehicles and is now available as an optional feature on higher trim levels of the newest Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban, and Bolt EUV production. Super Cruise is a Level 2 autonomous driving system once only available on Cadillacs and allows for completely hands-free driving on select geofenced roads.

The Super Cruise driver assistance technology uses Global Positioning System (GPS) sensing, GPS-enhanced data, a high-precision map and network of cameras to maintain automatic control of vehicle steering on compatible roads. The GPS uses real-time corrections and map data to determine the vehicle’s location while the Lane Sensing Camera detects the marked lanes on the road to help the vehicle automatically steer and maintain lane position.

The system works with Adaptive Cruise Control†, which is designed to detect vehicles traveling in the same direction in its path and accelerate or brake the vehicle to maintain a driver-selected following gap time from a detected vehicle ahead, even in stop-and-go traffic conditions.

When engaged, Super Cruise utilizes a Driver Attention System. It provides feedback on system status while tracking the driver’s head position and using alerts that prompt the driver to pay close attention to the road and steer manually when needed.

What pickup trucks have super Cruise?

Super Cruise is available on the 2023 and 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali and Denali Ultimate, the most advanced and luxurious Sierra ever. With Super Cruise, drivers can travel hands-free on more than 400,000 miles of compatible roads in the U.S. and Canada.

It’s not just curves and travel speed that Super Cruise is capable of handling for the Sierra Denali and Denali Ultimate.

Drivers can also let Super Cruise do the work of changing lanes when traveling on a compatible road.

For example, if the vehicle is traveling on a divided freeway at a set speed of 65–70 mph and is behind someone traveling 60 mph, the system’s Automatic Lane Change when enabled will look for an opening once the following gap is shortened. If a suitable opening is detected, Super Cruise will automatically initiate the turn signal andchange lanes without the driver doing anything other than paying attention to the road.

What is the difference between Chevy Super Cruise and Ultra Cruise?

GM never provided a date for Ultra Cruise’s rollout. The automaker’s already working on the soft points of expanded hands-free driving, launching a public awareness and dealership instruction campaign last July called “Hands Free, Eyes On,” trying to get vehicle owners to understand the limits of the tech. The closest we got for Ultra Cruise availability was GM saying the $340,000 Cadillac Celestiq would be the first product so equipped. Even with that, we were told Ultra Cruise wouldn’t be available at the electric sedan’s launch, instead being ladled into the Celestiq’s tech suite via OTA updates. As far as we can tell, the Celestiq is getting the same Super Cruise found in other GM products. Based on the Super Cruise’s current capabilities of more than 400,000 miles of roads in the U.S. and Canada, and Ultra Cruise’s aim of more than two million miles — that include the hardest kind to drive, city miles — there could be a long road and a lot of updates to get from the former to the latter. And that makes sense — better to get it right.
