Reykjavik, Iceland’s capital city, is conveniently located approximately a ten-minute drive from the city center. The port of Reykjavik consists of three terminals: Skarfabakki, Miðbakki, and Kornagarður. Smaller ships dock in the Old Harbor, while larger cruise ships dock at a pier by the ferry terminal approximately 3km east of downtown. Shuttles are usually provided into the city, but can take a long time.
There are two options for docking in Reykjavik: Miðbakki in the Old Harbor, where smaller boats arrive, or Skarfabakki, where most larger cruise ships dock. Most shore excursions include pickup and drop. The Skarfabakki Berth, located in the Sundahöfn area of Reykjavík, offers a versatile docking solution for cruise ships visiting the vibrant city.
The schedule includes docking times at various piers, including Skarfabakki, Miðbakki, Faxagarður, and Korngarður. The busiest time at the port is during the summer months when ships dock at the Old Harbor. Reykjavík has two cruise docks: Miobakki, which is easily walking distance to the center, and Skarfabakki, where most ships dock. The port also provides shuttles to and from the city center.
