Your cruise ship will dock at the long cruise dock of Huatulco, which takes about 2 ship lengths to walk to the exit and straight into town. There are no facilities on the cruise dock except for tricycles that will bring you to the exit for a small tip. The cruise ship docks at a dedicated pier near the town, Santa Cruz Bay, just south of the village of La Crucecita. This area is easily accessible due to the variety of shops, restaurants, and other things to do.
Huatulco is composed of three smaller regions and several outlying villages. Santa Cruz is the port area where cruise ships dock, with La Crucecita being the main downtown area and Tangolunda being the hotel and resort zone. Tourist information, taxis, souvenir shops, and a beach are available right off the cruise dock. The cruise ship docks in a small bay where you have access to a nice little beach, shops, restaurants, and a marina right next to the ship.
The closest to your ship is Playa Santa Cruz, a small 800-foot crescent-shaped sand beach about a 10-minute walk from where cruise ships dock. Bahia de Santa Cruz is within walking distance to La Crucecita, a picturesque little town with a lot of attractions. Cruiseline.com offers detailed reviews and tips to enjoy Huatulco, including shore excursions, local activities, and must-see attractions.
