I am a school teacher who was bitten by the travel bug many decades ago. My husband Billy has come along for the ride and now shares my dream to travel the world with our three children. The kids Pollyanna, 13, Cooper, 12 and Tommy 9 are in love with plane trips (thank goodness) and discovering new places, experiences and of course Disneyland.

  • Probably my favorite article ever! I’ve been to this restaurant 5 times already! I cried when Souplantation closed and prayed nightly that they’d come back. It means as much to me as Disneyland because I met my husband at Souplantation when I worked there. It was both my brother and my first job in the early 90s. I can vouch that everything was made fresh. My husband made all prepared salads, soups, and more. My brother worked the Soup bar and bakery. I worked the Salad Bar, register, and dining room.

  • Man i miss soup plantation so much. It dying during covid 19 was the greatest tragedy of my life lol. I miss the Pizzas, chicken soup, clam chowder, blue berry muffins, baked potatoes soft serve, and salads! I live like 50min from this soup n fresh place, but the old souplantation location near me is still there just dead with the sign. Hopefully, soup n fresh expands!

  • My mother was the woman who started with a single plate and piled everything on top. I however started with two trays and seven plates and made various salads as I went. When I was done I’d even have the little cups with the seeds and peas and blue cheese (Mom accused me of causing the bankruptcy because I would bring three or four containers of blue cheese home with us; not really home but for the ride home in the car). We would easily spend 4 hours at Sweet tomatoes having lunch. One of my favorite memories, I got a DUI and lost my job and after bailing me out of jail Mom took me this sweet tomatoes for lunch. She said for the next 4 hours I didn’t have to worry about the rest of my life.

  • So this one is privately owned and not affiliated with Sweet Tomatoes/ Souplantation. I’m so happy they’ve opened and are so dedicated to staying close to the concept! The actual Sweet Tomatoes company is reopening in Tucson but so far just that location. I grew up going to CA locations and was so sad when they closed. Can’t wait to go to this one!! Thank you for reviewing! 😊😋🥗🍜🍠🥖🍦

  • My Soup Plantation at a mall has not been occupied, since they closed. In fact, most of the stuff like seats, booths, counters and stations are still there. If they wanted to reopen, it wouldn’t need to take that long. The only problem is the mall is supposed to go through a big transformation in the next few years. The property was sold but maybe that part won’t change. Since some big companies are there. Like, Princess Cruises is right next door.

  • This location is near my husband’s family, who all live in Upland and Rancho Cucamonga. We can’t wait to go! I read an article a while back that an investor bought the intellectual property for Souplantation/Sweet Tomatoes, and is in the process of reopening a Sweet Tomatoes in Tucson, AZ. Also, my Aunt, who lives in Tampa, FL, said that they just heard that they are reopening one there, as well. The investor is based in Winter Park, FL, so that makes sense. I get the feeling that more Sweet Tomatoes will start opening soon. They’d better hurry though, because Soup and Fresh may take the mantle and run with it and overtake the Sweet Tomatoes investors, if they sit on their laurels for too long! The early bird catches the worm!

  • The line is a lot longer than it was when it was soup plantation I ate there about three weeks ago. Me and my daughter spent like $42.02 drinks and the soup bar I guess with inflation it’s about right I would say it’s the cheapest thing and there are a few things that are different but it’s enough for a lot of millennials, from what I heard in the line, they were extremely happy for it to come back

  • This is very exciting. We live in Oregon and drive past Sweet Tomato locations all the time. Some are still there and empty, but one location is now a Starbucks. One thing you didn’t mention was the Bakery section. Did they have that? I loved the muffins and other baked items they used to have. Was that there? Thanks for posting this. We have really missed this company!
