Kroger, a nationwide grocer, is offering big savings to shoppers aged 55 and older on the last Friday of every month. The company’s Senior Discount Day program, which was once a common practice across all Kroger stores, has been discontinued. Branches that still offer it give seniors aged 55+ a discount. As March 15, 2022, marks the last day for senior discounts, seniors are encouraged to visit their local Kroger stores and make the most of their discounts before the program ends.
The Kroger Senior Discount Day policy offers eligible customers, ages 55 and older, an extra 5 off their total in-store purchase on specific dates. To take advantage of the senior discounts, customers must be 55+ and have a valid ID. Some independent Kroger stores also run senior discount days, giving customers a percentage off their bill.
At this time, there are no plans to end the Senior Discount program in Raleigh Durham stores. The last day for the Senior Discount Program will be June 22. Kroger said in a news release that experts studied consumer research to determine the best time to apply the discounts.
Every Thursday, seniors get a 5 discount on all purchases except for fuel, pharmacy, tickets, and gift cards. The discounts apply after all. Kroger’s Senior Discount Days program will come to an end on March 15, 2022, and the company wants all customers to save every day, regardless of shopping day or time.
