A Venezuelan navy gunboat, Naiguatá, accidentally owned itself after ramming the German cruise ship RCGS Resolute in international waters off the south Caribbean. The ship was carrying only 32 crew members and no passengers at the time. The Venezuelan Navy warship, armed with a 76mm naval gun and a German-built anti-aircraft system, was attempting to intercept the cruise ship. However, the Venezuelan Navy crew were unaware of the cruise ship’s presence.
