When it comes to value for money, you might be better off checking into a budget-friendly accommodation and splashing out on day trips. You’ll likely get more for your money by staying in a hostel or hotel on Viti Levu and taking day trips out to private island beach clubs or resorts. Most of these tours span eight hours, giving you a full day of luxury and adventure.
Ride the ferry instead of a domestic flight. If you’re traveling to islands like Ovalau, Vanua Levu, and Taveuni, a ferry ride will typically cost around 10% of what you’d pay for a domestic flight. He said over the years, the company has invested significant capital to bring the Marina facilities up to world class standards in their design, ambience, efficiency and safety and every effort is put into ensuring that the Marina’s operations work in harmony with its marine environment.

How to get around Denarau?
If you’re staying on Denarau Island, one of the best ways to get around is via Hop-On Hop-Off Bus. The open-air Bula Bus runs every 10 to 15 minutes and stops at all of the main resorts and key tourist hotspots on the island.
Taxi services are available on the islands of Viti Levu, Vanua Levu, Taveuni and Ovalau. You can usually find taxi depots alongside bus stations in major towns – keep an eye out for number plates that start with ‘LT’, which all licensed taxis have. Also, keep in mind that taxis in rural towns may not have metres, so we’d suggest settling on a fare in advance to avoid being overcharged.
Of course, hiring a car offers the most flexibility to explore Fiji at your own pace. Car Rentals are available across Fiji, including with familiar companies like Thrifty, Avis and Budget, so you can simply pick up or drop off your car at the location most convenient to you.
If you’re not overly comfortable driving in a foreign country but would still like the flexibility that hiring your own car provides, Driver Hire may be a more suitable option. Prices for a driver for a day usually start at around FJD$100, which makes this way of getting around Fiji great value for money.
How to get to port Denarau?
How to get there. The easiest and most convenient way to get to Denarau Island is to take a bus or a taxi from Suva (Fiji’s capital city) to the Port Denarau Marina. From there, you can hop on a short ferry ride to the island. The ferry ride takes around 20 minutes and operates regularly throughout the day. The cost of the ferry ride is around $5 per person.
Another option is to fly into the Nadi International Airport and then take a shuttle bus or taxi to Port Denarau Marina. The journey takes around 30 minutes and the cost of the shuttle bus is around $20 per person.
If you’re feeling fancy, you can also opt for a seaplane or helicopter transfer, but be prepared to pay a premium price for that.
