Cruise main is a lighted feature in Honda models operated by the Cruise Control Master Button, located on the steering wheel. It allows drivers to control a set speed on the Honda vehicle without constantly pressing the steering-wheel-mounted cruise control master button. The CRUISE MAIN light turns on on the instrument panel, and with cruise control, you can drive beyond 25 mph (40 kmh). When activated or deactivated, the cruise main indicator illuminates on the dashboard.
Cruise main control systems use an electronic throttle to maintain a set speed, also known as cruising speed. When activated, the cruise main will automatically adjust the idle speed and throttle. It is useful for driving on highways as it allows you to maintain a constant speed.
If your cruise control is not working, it may be due to a short in the gauge control module. To control cruise control, press the Cruise Control Master Button on the steering wheel and the Cruise Main message will display on the dashboard. In the Honda Civic, the Cruise Main Express refers to the cruise control system, also known as the automatic pilot.
Cruise control allows you to maintain a set speed above 25 mph (40 kmh) without keeping your foot on the accelerator pedal. If you are experiencing issues with your cruise control not working, it may be due to a short in the gauge control module.
