Does the Holy See still exist?
Vatican City State, created in 1929 by the Lateran Pacts, provides the Holy See with a temporal jurisdiction and independence within a small territory. It is distinct from the Holy See. The state can thus be deemed a significant but not essential instrument of the Holy See. The Holy See itself has existed continuously as a juridical entity since Roman Imperial times and has been internationally recognised as a powerful and independent sovereign entity since Late Antiquity to the present, without interruption even at times when it was deprived of territory (e.g. 1870 to 1929).
Vatican City is one of the few widely recognised independent states that has not become a member of the United Nations. The Holy See, which is distinct from Vatican City State, has permanent observer status, with all the rights of a full member except for a vote in the UN General Assembly.
The government of Vatican City has a unique structure. As governed by the Holy See, the Pope is the sovereign of the state, but he is supported by different bodies. While legislative authority is also managed, in the Pope’s name, by the Pontifical Commission for Vatican City State, a body of cardinals appointed by the Pope for five-year periods, executive power is exercised by the president of that commission (who is consequently also the President of the Governorate), assisted by the General Secretary and the Deputy General Secretary. The state’s foreign relations are entrusted to the Holy See’s Secretariat of State and diplomatic service.
Where is the Jesus boat now?
In 1986, two brothers living along the Sea of Galilee discovered the long-buried remains of the hull of just such a boat, visible in the mud during a severe drought. Archaeologists carefully removed and preserved the hull, which testing showed had been in use around the first century A.D. The hull, composed primarily of cedar planks, is 27 feet long and 7 1/2 feet wide, with a preserved height of 4.3 feet. The flat hull allowed the boat to get very close to shore. The so-called “Jesus Boat” is now on display in the climatized Yigal Alon Museum in Ginosar, a kibbutz along the western shore of the Sea of Galilee that is home to the men who found it.

Where is the Holy Ship wrecked?
Immerse yourself in the vibrant world of HOLY SHIP! WRECKED that we had the privilege of experiencing at the iconic Hard Rock Riviera Maya Resort! This setting, filled with an atmosphere that pays homage to the rich history of music, became the perfect backdrop for the celebration of this unique event.
From the first light of day, we decided to start our day on the beach stage, floaties in hand, letting ourselves be carried away by the tide of music that spread out before us. Afterwards, we eagerly ventured out to secure our spot on the Main Stage, where the musical magic was flowing with intensity.
The night stages presented us with a fascinating dilemma, as each offered a unique experience. The Tropic Stage, for example, enveloped us in the opulence of a baroque palace, illuminated by the seductive red light. The Sunrise Stage visuals captivated us, but Thursday was our favorite day.
What is a Holy Ship cruise?
Holy Ship! is an annual electronic dance music (EDM) festival previously held aboard a 4,000+ capacity cruise ship, with two back to back sailings leaving out of Port Canaveral, Florida with stops in the Bahamas. It was originally set up by Destructo and eventually absolved by Insomniac Records after infighting. The event is put on by music production companies Cloud 9 Adventures, HARD, and The Bowery Presents.
Holy Ship! was cancelled in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It returned in January 2022, but instead of a cruise ship the entire festival took place at the Hard Rock Resort in (RIVIERA MAYA)). All subsequent events have taken place on land.
Before 2020, when Holy Ship! took place in a cruise ship, the festival was split into two back-to-back trips on the same route. The cruise would start from Port Canaveral and travel to the Bahamas, making a stop on a private island for an all-day beach party. From there it would either spend a day at sea, or stop in Nassau, then ultimately return to Cape Canaveral.
What is the alternative to holy ship?
There are several alternatives to ‘Holy Ship’ offering 3-day EDM cruises in the Caribbean including the ‘Groove Cruise’. For metal fans there is the ‘Rock Boat’ or ‘70,000 Tons of Metal’ both of which sail around the Caribbean.
