I’m from Ohio and we always loved Bob Evans. My favorite was the Pot Roast hash! It was my mom’s fav when she was older because she said they were a calm quiet place and had good home cooking. They had good family sized meals too for when nights were busy. Much better than fast food. Sadly they closed all the ones near where I live so I try to have breakfast there anytime I go home.
I love Bob Evans. I grew up in Ohio and they had restaurants all over the state. The entire company was headquartered in Columbus on South High Street. Sadly, the company was split up in 2017 and the restaurant division was sold to Post Holdings. The packaged food (mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, scalloped apples, etc. ) that you see in the supermarkets is a separate company now headquartered in New Albany, Ohio. Here in Tampa, most of the Bob restaurants have closed. Bob would not be happy. No more chili, no more beef vegetable soup and no more spaghetti on the menu. They have good food at good prices. The homemade bread is amazing.

Less than a quarter mile from my house this is my regular haunt. John there is no reason for a taste test……Cracker Barrel all day every day! I can get five meals from that deal so I will be doing it very soon (maybe today lol) I can’t cook the stuff for that. That’s cheap you get a pizza it’s twenty dollars one person could eat two meals on separate days. Incredible buy . God after how bad KFC is that’s incredible. Bob Evens went through bankruptcy a major food company owns them now . There store products are great for truck drivers . They survived and that meal deal is a game changer .This is why UBER and food delivery fails they add so much cost to the meal . The soup is 3 dollars at a lot of places . If you could get that delivered for 30 $ It would be a deal .
I don’t really like mac and cheese. I have had it a few times and I think it tastes very low quality. Somebody said to me a couple years back if you don’t like mac and cheese try putting some stewed tomatoes on top. So what I did was I put some butter on top of the mac and cheese and then I put some stewed tomatoes and some salt and pepper and then I did like that. You should try that combination it’s pretty good. 😊
Bob Evans is a step below Cracker Barrel and Cracker Barrel gives you next to nothing portion wise vs. Perkins or Shoneys, both of which are better, or just as good as the others. I actually have to get a doggy bag after I go to Perkins because the portions are huge. Your meal at home looks like the Boston Market I use to get at Robinson when it was still open. Bob Even griddle breakfasts any good? I may go to the Calcutta, OH one as there is no Cracker Barrel around there.
So, they call it a restaurant but you can’t eat there. The food looks so good, making me hungry. That chicken noodle soup certainly looks homemade. I cook from scratch 4-5 days a week and make a mean Salisbury steak but, you probably would not like mine. I do not do onions or mushrooms. Oh my gosh, I love, love country fried steak.
never heard of Bob Evans we don’t have those out here in southwestern OK. Looks delish too, I like the fried fish in cornmeal. I don’t eat chicken fry or steak. Dont’ like peanut butter pie or cheesecake either. My fav is coconut cream. I put bacon in my green beans. All the other items looked good I think that was a pretty average price and saving $9 is great!! great review guys!
