I am a school teacher who was bitten by the travel bug many decades ago. My husband Billy has come along for the ride and now shares my dream to travel the world with our three children. The kids Pollyanna, 13, Cooper, 12 and Tommy 9 are in love with plane trips (thank goodness) and discovering new places, experiences and of course Disneyland.

  • 0:10 as seen by the shadows, the sun is to their left. 0:15 the sun is now on our left. since the camera is face-to-face with the actors, that means the sun is now on their right. 0:21 the sun is now to the sheep’s left. since we can assume from this shot and the next one that the sheep is to the left of the actors, this means the sun is now in front of them. 0:23 the sun is now behind them. bonus: 0:45 the sun is to his left and slightly behind him. 0:50 the sun is to their left and slightly behind them. presumably, they are facing towards “steve” in this shot, which implies that the sun is tied to the camera for some reason. i feel like i’m going crazy. isn’t this warner bros? they could afford loyalties to the beatles, but can’t figure out where the sun is? what is going on?

  • Let me guess the script: the main characters originally have differences which makes them fight all the time. Suddenly while playing and telling stupid jokes they enter in the Minecraft world where they were playing in in the beginning. They all are scared and they will be learning progressively how everything works (as if they never played the game) while showing us scenes with a stupid humor referencing internet and meme culture. They keep learning from the world until they found Steve (and as if they never played the game, they had to ask him who he was). Steve will have a stupid and goofy personality and thank to him the main characters will learn to work with each other while they still learn no craft stuff and finding resources. They realize they could scape from the game defeating the dragon so they start working together to do so. At the end of the fight one main character dies and they are all sad but they are finally out of the game. Where they realize that the one who died is actually alive and everyone is happy dancing to a nostalgic 80’s song. Steve will end alone in the world sad but happy at the same time bc his friends are where they belong. Credits. And that’s how you save yourself 25$ in cinema on April 4th 👍

  • coming this summer to a theater near you – 1.5 hours of a popular media adaptation featuring generic recognizable funny man, regular lukewarm jokes to start a sensible chuckle from some in the audience, a predictable plot where everyone kinda gives up and then there’s a rally from one in the group, an ending where the good guys win and a ‘what did you think?’ on the way out of the theater

  • I don’t understand how they could see the elegant and timelessly simplistic Minecraft art style and then give us THIS freak homunculus of hyperrealism and trying to evoke the origin style. It’s like the entire setting was done by the same people who did Sonic’s original CGI face before they reworked him…

  • Warner Brothers, PLEASE rethink this. Someone has already animated a version that looks infinitely better for *free*. I sincerely hope that behind the scenes you are completely rethinking and redoing some parts of this movie, I dont care if it releases later, but if it releases like this it will be a massive flop.

  • 0:15 looks like the portal is made of obsidian, but blue portal? Leads to the real world I guess? Otherwise should be purple. 0:30 What recipe is this? 0:31 The items on crafting table are just randomly thrown onto it, making no sense in recipe, and since when you can make buckets connected with chain? I’m tired of movies not sticking to the games. Making stuff up just to fit their script to solve a problem easily, instead of actually using things in the game and finding a clever way to solve the problem characters are facing. This trailer not sticking to the game, makes me not to watch it and pretend no movie is being made. I would finally love a movie that’s sticking to the game, unfolding some of the games lore and mysteries, that the game never tells you, that the movie would add up to the game (like origin of the end portals or adding to the mystery of music discs etc.), instead we get a movie that only have in common with the game is blocky stuff and the name. Even Steve is not looking like Steve, he could at least have the beard that the default skin have. Here’s a blue shirt, done.

  • they should’ve made it look like the minecraft update trailers, with actual minecraft characters and footage that ACTUALLY looks like minecraft. In my opinion, story mode actually looked good, and captured the essence of early minecraft very well, but this? this is incomparable. The closest thing this looks similar to are those minecraft but in real life articles from 2015-2016, and the realistic minecraft texture pack. I don’t expect much from this movie.

  • Even something like Steve and Alex beating the ender dragon would miles better. Instead we get an overdone “Omg we just got transported into another world, how do we leave” trope. I also cannot understand the choise to make this a live action film. Edit: Just thought of this, but am I the only one who thinks this kinda resembles the emoji movie candy crush scene?

  • Warner Bros, all respect for keeping the comments open. Please hear us. Should’ve done it mostly animated–think Pagemaster, or the Lego movie. Should’ve embraced the iconic look of the game, maybe animating it like Element Animations does–and they do take liberties with how the game looks and works, but not to this extent. Live action was a fundamental mistake. Please, respect the source material and the players who have grown up waiting for this.

  • “Hey,” says my friend, holding up his phone. “Have you send the Minecraft movie trailer yet? It makes the original Sonic trailer look like high art.” I see the still image on his screen and think to myself as he hits the play button, “Eh, that doesn’t look so bad. What else should an animated Minecraft movie look like?” Suddenly, the live actors appear and I immediately scream in horror.

  • I remember when I was in elementary school and heard that there would be a Minecraft movie, and I innocently searched for Minecraft Movies on YT and saw the usual wild Minecraft animations, at that time I started waiting for a Minecraft movie and now I’m an adult and look what the results are. I’ve been waiting all this time, my childhood dream was shattered

  • Just think. In another timeline, Mojang never sold Minecraft. Instead, Notch simply stepped down and handed it off to Jeb, and the Minecraft movie was made two years ago. It was just a fun movie-length Blender feature that Mojang made out of their own pockets, hiring a bunch of Internet animators, like the true Indie darlings they are (in said timeline).

  • Calling it now. The movie is essentially a half-baked version of the Mario Movie. The bad guys are going to come through the portal and have a final epic fight. I don’t see how these people are related yet, but blah blah blah, they find a portal to the Minecraft world. They explore around, find things aren’t normal, and stumble into Steve. Stuff happens. Minor world building and character development, meet the villagers, and then they find a spooky portal!! They go in, find trouble, and then all the baddies come out of the portal into the Minecraft overworld only after them. Then it’s up to this rag tag team to swoop in and save the day with weird crafting animations and the power of friendship. 43% Rotten Tomatoes
