  • Helo. There is a correction Ryanair gives you the best (HARD) landings. If you have luck you could get some crash in ryanair. Once i was travelling in ryanair. After the takeoff, some sounds was coming fron the engine after 10 or 20 mins the pilot said there is some techincal prblm. It was hard landed to nearby airport. The landing made my backbone a smash.🤣

  • I am a member of star alliançe …. I hv travelled within India few times …. one thing is for sure : they are ALWAYS LATE …. their favorite trick : TRICK 1 : announcing the flight was late due to delay in arrival of incoming flight (as if they are speaking of some remote incident, not another AI flight) …. TRICK 2 : Starting boarding or pretending to …. then, halfway down the air corridor, stop the boarding for 15-20m …. why? Because the cleaning staff are still cleaning …. why then start boarding? This “protocol” is the SAME for local flights and international flights,,.. they do not even make up the lost time, as other airlines do The staff are fairly presentable but are very badly trained …. one incident remains clear in mind : I was returning from a family funeral on a local flight …. tired, I fell asleep …. next I knew the male flight steward (who had been more interested in flirting with a female attendant) screamed into my ear, ‘open your tray table please!’ …. my only reaction : watta twerp! And AI is pretty shameless about it!!

  • The experience flying Air India has deteriorated so much since the TATA takeover that I am also not flying Air India again at least not until for the next 5 years at least…..Tata being a private owner has dug AI to the ground. They are not spending a single dollar to fix the terribly broken flights between the US and India even after 2 years of takeover. They are shamelessly waiting for the new plans to arrive until late 2024. In the meantime they are exposing travelers to broken seats, no in flight entertainment, and horrible food service year after year. This is the worst strategy ever. All these people that are giving benefit to Tata saying it will take time are all domestic flyers. Flying 16 hours in a broken and dilapidated plane since the last 2+ years and continuing to do so until late 2024 is simply pathetic and unacceptable. At least under the Indian Government they were spending some money on fixing broken plans and doing some repairs.. Under Tata they are so cheap that seats that are completely broken are falling apart are also not being fixed. Shame on Air India and Tata sons.

  • India’s previous Aviation Minister Mr. Prafful Patel ordered many new planes even though Air India was already under lot of debt and Indian market is very much competitive. He and his corrupt party got handsome kickbacks and Air India got into debt from which they can never come out of. I have traveled Air India London to Mumbai many times and honestly the Dreamliner that they fly is one of the best planes in aviation industry. But Indians take pride in breaking every rule and also treating people from the service industry as their personal servants. So no wonder the airline gets the blame big time but most of the travelers travelling in that are somewhat responsible for indifferent attitude of the staff.

  • Finally after 68 (now 69) years. Air India is back to it’s privatization company Tata Sons. After a terrible nationalisation happened with Air India, it is now gone and The tatas are planning and making sure that it goes back to it’s normal path. It wasn’t the airlines fault, it was the government’s fault of claiming the airline like that from JRD Tata with no saying so as India’s Civil Aviation which had no knowledge in maintaining airlines. It was only Air India and only Air India who stood up for the citizens of our country as well as other nationalities too to be rescued in several missions across the world. “No other – This premium hospitality given airlines – did this job” . Whether it be the lebanon evacuation or the kuwait evacuation or the Yemen evacuation where 42 nationalities including the Indians were rescued by this “Air India – The Maharaja” .   • I can think of plenty of people who actively avoid flying AI but very few who actively seek to fly it. It’s too bad Jet Airways was the one that collapsed instead of this flying circus. I’ve had the misfortune of flying AI since the 80’s, so have logged a few miles with them – usually when EK or KU was too heavily booked around the holidays.

The best thing is privatisation of the airline because if not the airline will have a turbulent future which might lead to its demise.

  • They have their own issues but there is one thing about air india doemstic travel. What other airlines offer u is just plain punctuality. Air India has better seats, better legroom, better comfort and better services such as giving u accomodation, arrange lunch in case of delays, which is impossible in other airlines. MOst important is the 25 kg allowance in the domestic carrier. before complaining, we should also analyse these things. I live in a remote city and surprisingly there is an airport. Only one flight that too to mumbai by air india. It is very understandable that it gets delayed every single day. But what we tend to ignore is this service is not very feasible still we are able to avail it. Any other PRivate airline esepcially would never dare to introduce flights to my place.and 15 days back i had an international flight on AIr India to Nairobi on a dreamliner. The seat comfort, the legroom was outstanding. it was my best ever flight!

  • I think for certain markets like south east asia and china, the A350-1000 would be a wise choice since they are currently flying 747’s on many many short hall flights. For the rest of the world, I think the A350-1000 will be too large for most markets. You never know though in the aviation world. We could have something happen again like on 9/11 that rocked the industry.

  • It’s a national carrier operated as a utility business. Am surprised you have to ask in the first place. When it’s all said and done, your psychological contract between you and an airline is a seat and safe passage hopefully but not necessarily on the day you have booked. The inflight service, food, beverages and ancillary services is only meant to entice you to repeat custom. Good service is therefore discretory not an entitlement. Any airline that gets you from one point to another, on time, budget and without killing you in the process is good.

The best managed airline east of the subcontinent is naturally Singapore Airlines. Passengers from first world countries are best served by flying, whenever possible towards or within the subcontinent, with a true world-class airline. Having said all this, when a traveller from a first world country travels to the subcontinent, one just has to accept and even embrace, that the way of life and culture is different in every which way imaginable. This is a prime reason for travelling to the subcontinent in the first place, to experience something new and different, to expand one’s cultural horizons.

  • Last month We came back home using air india, Frankfurt am main to Chennai via Mumbai,the fare was reasonable,but the food was a total disaster, they gave us a roti after 15 minutes,that too it was totally dry and impossible to eat, the IFE was also not working thank God my mom didn’t want to use the IFE so i used her IFE,but the flight from Bombay to Chennai was way better,the flight numbers are AI-124 and AI-671 Air India plz improve

  • Wow…didn’t expect this coming. I’ve got close family working for Air India, and yes, the airline does suffer from corporate corruption and heavy bureaucracy especially since the 2007 merger with Indian Airlines, but why make a article singling out one airline in bad light? Do you ever consider what is does to the morale of the flying crew and other employees that work effortlessly to get flights in and out each day, and are currently undergoing privatization with the fear of mass layoffs? Firstly, AI is part of Star Alliance. If its standards were that bad, it wouldn’t have been allowed to join. Yes, they’ve got old 747s and 777s, but they’ve also got brand new ATRs, A320neos and 787s post merger. The cockroach incident? Just so you know, AI doesn’t cook it’s own inflight meals. Not that I’m justifying it in anyway, but it’s the catering company to blame for that. AI is currently the only full service airline in India (apart from Vistara) which serves thousands of meals per day, and yet one random insect in a meal, and it becomes Hell’s Kitchen? Gimme a break. When thousands of India were stranded during the war in Kuwait-Iraq and most recently in Libya, it was Air India that modified flight schedules to send A321s and B777s to bring our citizens back home in the thousands. Anyway, I could go on about the achievements of Air India way back from its conception in 1932 (as TATA airlines) but forget it, hands down to the cockroach. The rest can go to hell.

  • Pakistan international has been on a road to batterment on the past year and so and have reduced their losses to a great extent which is a good sign but on the other hand Air India has really not done much. Most of the reason is the political interference. I believe if air india is handled by the iaf it could be a better airline

  • I have flown Air India on international and domestic routes. They were better than BA, Austrian Airlines, American and even Emirates. The cockroach thing is disgusting. But who knows, some sad passenger might have done it for attention on social media. Air India really isn’t as bad people make it out to be.
