The Atlantis hotel in The Bahamas has confirmed that cruiseship passengers can spend the day with a pass, although travel requirements and safety protocols are subject to change due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Masks are optional and not required. Getting to Atlantis from the cruise port is straightforward, with taxis waiting outside the gate. It usually takes around 10 minutes to reach Atlantis, offering scenic views along the way.
Atlantis has worked closely with Royal Caribbean to enhance and develop shore excursions that are fun and exciting for their group. They have worked closely with cruise and resort companies to ensure that their staff members welcome Atlantis guests just as they do everyone else. Cruise ship itineraries are always subject to change without notice, and any alterations except to embarkation points shall not be considered a major change.
The walk to Atlantis is fairly simple and closer than those who were on the Atlantis property. The Marriott will let cruise passengers use their pool and changing facilities for free – you simply have to tip. Day passes are required for non-Atlantis guests to access Aquaventure, Dolphin Cay, the marine habitat, and beaches. The passes can be purchased on a limited basis.

Is Atlantis free after 6pm?
After 6pm the Atlantis staff stop checking room key cards for access into The Dig, which is a maze of underground aquariums and a creation of what the mythical lost city of Atlantis might have looked like. It’s a great activity after dinner. So, it’s not really “free”, just that no one is checking cards after hours.
Is Atlantis open to the public?

Can cruise ship passengers visit Atlantis?
Did you know that Atlantis in the Bahamas allows cruise passengers to visit the resort when their ship is docked in Nassau? That’s right…cruise lines such as Norwegian and Disney Cruise lines offer excursions to Atlantis but what exactly can you do there?
This 100 acre oceanfront waterscape features 35 restaurants, rock climbing, water park and an open-air marine habitat with over 50,000 marine animals with over 250 species represented. There are several lagoons featuring a vast array of animals including sharks, stingrays, and more. They also have on property a dolphin rehabilitation center called Dolphin Cay where they take care of rescued bottlenose dolphins, sea lions, and manta rays.
From the Port of Nassau you are about 15 minutes from the Atlantis property. When you arrive you will check in and are then given a wristband that allows you access to the property. A cool perk to this excursion is that they also provide towels and life jackets so you do not need to bring any with you from the ship. You do want to try to go and scope out chairs as they do go fast! Pro-Tip, a good spot to lounge or grab a chair is the Grotto Pool area. You are in close proximity to pretty much everything, the beach, pools and waterslides. Plus there are food options, bathrooms and first aid fairly close to this area. It is a win-win!
Can you walk around Atlantis without paying?
“Free” Things To Do on a Day Trip to Atlantis – No Day Pass Needed. Atlantis doesn’t do “free” well, so by “free” I really mean, you can enter for free, but it’s assumed you’ll spend money while you are there. Don’t expect to access much of the property. Without a Day Pass, you’ll likely not be able to get past security to see much of the resort. They were very strict about wristbands and room keys (which are dated with your checkout date). The only places you are able to access are the Casino, Marina Village, and the lobby areas. You will not be allowed to go into the resort to view the marine life habitats or outside to the pool areas. Forget about seeing the crystal blue waters at the beach without a pass, so if that is your goal, scroll down and take a look at what you can do with a day pass!
Marina Village. Marina Village is located next to the hotel on the edge of the marina. It is full of colorful shops, restaurants, and street vendors. Though it is open to the public and looks separate, it is an extension of the Atlantis property, so reservations to restaurants will be more difficult to get since guests of the hotel take priority.
Shops available range from Atlantis souvenirs to Rum Cake Vendors, Pirhana Joe, and several luxury jewelry stores.
