How To Clear Your Ears After Diving?

To clear ears after diving, it is essential to equalize the pressure between your middle ear and the ear canal. The most effective way to do this is by swallowing hard, which should open your eustachian tubes and equalize the air space. If you cannot equalize your ears, pinch your nostrils on the outside and blow air gently. The Frenzel Maneuver is an effective technique for equalizing your ears while diving.

To get rid of blocked ears, tilt your head or lie down sideways so that gravity causes water to flow out of your ear canal. To make things comfier, soak a clean towel in hot water, wring it out, and hold it against your ear for a few minutes. Then, tilt your head to the side to let the water drain out. Mixing 1 part alcohol to 1 part vinegar can create an effective eardrop solution to clear water from your ear.

After diving, gently rinse your ear canal with fresh water to remove salt and organic particles. Perform the Valsalva maneuver by taking a breath, closing your mouth, gently pinching the end of your nose, and blowing out gently for 2 or 3 seconds. Your physician advised 12 white vinegar and 12 rubbing alcohol. Lay on your side, put a few drops into an ear canal until muffled, and let it dry.

When bathing, occasionally wash your ears with a bulb syringe filled with warm soapy water and hydrogen-peroxide solution. Start on the lowest power with warm water outside your ear and move it inward without harming your eardrum. Clear your ears with a couple of drops of 76% alcohol in each one after a day of diving. Mix 1 part alcohol to 1 part vinegar, then put a couple of drops in your ear. Wait 30 seconds, then drain the solution. Pay close attention to your ears and learn additional clearing techniques if you have trouble clearing them.
