If your suction line is cold, it could be due to a cold evaporator core. Look inside the AC under the hood and check for debris, blend door malfunctions, or blower motor issues. The front A/C blows cold air but the 2nd row and back blow warm. The temperature dial should be checked for the correct temperature.
The best metric of A/C performance is the thermometer you stick into the air vent, not the low side/high side pressures. Insufficient amount of refrigerant in the AC system is one of the leading causes of AC not working. The heat can sometimes be unbearable, and it’s essential to have a functioning A/C system to avoid the discomfort of sitting in your car covered in sweat.
In this video, we show how to diagnose and repair A/C clutches quickly using tools and parts. If the suction line is cold, it should be sweating. Also, look at the condenser, which has never been cleaned, as it can cause poor cooling.
A 2002 Ford Excursion blows hot air up front and cool air in the rear, intermittently blowing through defrost vents. At 96 F, the range is 30 to 45 psi on the low and 175 to 275 psi on the high. As the temperature drops to 30 psi, the AC will become colder, and the heat can become unbearable.
To fix this issue, cycle the ignition 10-15 times from off to run and back, and try running the system at an engine speed of about 1,800 RPM with the rear A/C turned off while checking the front center vent temperatures.

This video shows you how to install a heater valve to increase the cooling capabilities of your air condition with a simple mod.
What mode makes AC colder?
The air conditioner’s two main modes are cool mode and fan mode. Cool mode is the default setting, delivering cool air throughout the room to cool down after a hot day. To optimize energy savings, set the temperature between 24 degrees Celsius. Fan mode circulates air without changing the temperature, allowing the AC to circulate air without running the compressor. This mode removes stagnant air and ensures fresh oxygen circulates throughout the home. Both modes are essential for maintaining optimal efficiency and cost-effectiveness in your home.
How do I make my car AC colder?
To make your car air conditioner feel colder and faster, replace the clogged or dirty cabin air filter, park in the shade, supercharge your A/C system, and avoid switching to max A/C right away. Park in the shade or use a windshield sunshade to reduce heat buildup inside your car, helping the A/C cool more effectively. Check and recharge your refrigerant levels as low refrigerant can significantly reduce A/C cooling performance. Set the A/C to pull air from outside initially before switching to recirculate mode for maximum cooling efficiency.
If your car A/C isn’t cutting it this summer, learn how to make the air conditioner colder in your vehicle to save you from the hot air blasting you in the face when you get in the car.
How can I increase the cooling of my AC?
To reduce the heat level in a room, turn off extra lights, switch on the AC before it gets too hot, and turn off exhaust fans in the kitchen and bathroom when the AC is on. New generation AC systems offer better temperature and humidity control and are more energy efficient if used correctly and maintained properly. To ensure optimal cooling, buy an AC of the right size, tonnage, and energy star rating, ensure proper installation, and maintain the unit optimally and smartly. A well-maintained air conditioner consumes less energy and helps control power bills. These tips can significantly help curb power bills in the long run.
How do I put my AC in cold mode?
The video provides instructions for the user to press the minus button on the temperature control until the desired temperature of 73 degrees Fahrenheit is reached. Once this temperature is reached, the user is then instructed to activate the air conditioning system.
How can I make my AC cooler colder?
In the current hot weather, it’s essential to consider how to make your air conditioner colder. Regularly changing your filters, spraying down your unit, using fans, checking air seals, preventing short cycling, using the right refrigerant, and placing it correctly in your home can significantly improve its efficiency. Regular cleaning of your air conditioner can also help prevent it from working harder, making it hotter.
Another way to make your air conditioner colder is to spray down your unit, use fans, check air seals, prevent short cycling, use the right refrigerant, and ensure the correct placement in your home. Why is my AC on but not getting colder?
A central air conditioner (AC) may not be cooling properly due to a low refrigerant level or a leak. A leak can cause humidity levels to rise, making the home feel hotter. If you suspect a leak, contact an HVAC professional immediately. Dirty or clogged filters are another common issue with AC units. These filters trap hair, lint, dust, and pollen, and if not changed regularly, they can become full. If the leak is large, diagnosing and fixing it can be challenging. Contacting an HVAC professional is recommended for proper diagnosis and repair.
Why isn’t my AC very cold in my car?
A car’s air conditioner needs a recharge to keep it cold enough. To save time and ensure proper functioning, it is recommended to schedule an appointment with a professional auto shop. Ace Auto in West Jordan, Utah can help recharge your AC system and provide a free quote.
An AC system refrigerant leak can be difficult to detect due to its immediate evaporation when in contact with air. A professional mechanic uses specialized tools to detect a leak by introducing ultraviolet fluid to show signs of low refrigerant pressure in the AC system. Signs of an AC system refrigerant leak include:
- The AC system is not functioning properly.
- The AC system is not cooling properly.\n3
How do I make my AC temperature colder?
To improve the efficiency of your air conditioner, follow these five effective ways:
Choose the right type of AC: Modern ACs come with innovative features like season-based cooling modes and dust-free filters for optimal cooling. However, keeping the AC running all day can be impractical and may increase energy bills.
Keep the filters clean: Regularly clean and replace filters as needed. Use preventive shading over your outdoor unit to prevent dust buildup and ensure the unit is properly insulated.
Use proper ventilation: Proper ventilation is crucial for maintaining the efficiency of your AC. Regular cleaning and maintenance can help prevent dust buildup and ensure the unit is functioning properly.
Which AC mode is the coldest?
Turbo mode represents the most powerful and efficient mode for rapid cooling, operating for a duration of 30 minutes before reverting to the previous settings. It is recommended for rooms that require rapid cooling. An understanding of the distinctions between these modes enables users to utilize their air conditioning systems in an optimal manner, modifying the mode in accordance with the prevailing temperature and humidity conditions within the room.
How can I increase the cooling of my car AC?
To optimize car ventilation, open windows before using the AC, allowing trapped heat to escape and accelerate cooling. Park your car away from direct sunlight or in shaded areas to prevent overheating. Regularly clean and inspect the AC condenser to prevent dust and debris buildup, which can hamper cooling efficiency over time. Regular AC service, clean filters, and maintaining a moderate temperature are also essential for optimal performance.
Why is my Ford Excursion AC not blowing cold?
The malfunction of a Ford Excursion air conditioning system may be attributed to a refrigerant leak, an electrical climate control issue, or a compressor problem.

I used a ball valve from hardware store because I was working out in the middle of nowhere and the only thing around was a hardware store I cut into the water pump hose and installed a ball valve with 2 barbed female male brass fittings along with hose clamps. It’s been on there 3 yrs. With no problems, when winter gets here I just raise the hood and turn valve back on,I also leave it barely flowing just to keep coolant flowing through heater core. My AC is so cold in my 04 6.0 PowerStroke that I can’t leave it on full blast on a 100°degree day or it will cause a brain and face freeze!!
There is an empty rubber stopper through the bulkhead right next to the under dash vacuum tube that was way easier to get through than next to the heater hoses and don’t have to reach up behind the dash. It is behind the passenger wheel well plastic though. Other than that everything else is the same.
