My husband Billy has come along for the ride and now shares my dream to travel the world with our three children. The kids Pollyanna, 13, Cooper, 12 and Tommy 9 are in love with plane trips (thank goodness) and discovering new places, experiences and of course Disneyland.

  • A couple of years ago my wifes company planned a trip. I was chosen to drive the V10 Excursion with 8 people and the luggage that comes with them from Denver, CO to Salida, Co to do some white water rafting. it had no problem climbing up the Kenosha Pass with all the weight. Also had no problem cruising at 75mph either.

  • What gets me about these things is that 10 years ago the only time you’d see them is in the ghetto areas…all worn out, spewing black smoke and body panels hanging off. Now I hear that a really clean 7.3 Limited or Bauer will sell for nearly 40 grand. Those V10s are good motors…but a buddy of mine who had one told me he couldn’t get out of the single digits no matter how hard he tried. Said it did better on the highway…around 13. Good, but thirsty. The new Godzilla (which I have) is better in town, around 11…and it’s getting close to 15 on the highway if I take it easy. The drawback with these older vehicles is the transmission…just not enough gears.

  • I have 2 2000 excursions. One white 4wd and one red rwd both limiteds with the V-10 motors. Some years ago I took my white one to the dealership because it seemed to be using oil. The meachanic told me that the V-10 was designed to blow an oil aerasol out thru the exhaust valves to keep them in good shape. So it wasn’t that it was burning oil but rather it was just a design feature of the V-10 motor.

  • During the fires in San Diego, I drove from Julian to city picking people along the way. Ended up with 22 people two goats 5 caged cats one dog ( mine, pains me to put him the category of animals ). Cops gave me escort last five miles and nothing was said about no seat belts and people laying across each other. Then volunteered my excision to pull horse trailers after that. I did not do that run. Good SUV. Believe it has frame of a 350 ford, correct me if I am wrong. Gas mileage sucks. I hear there are plug ins you can buy that will increase your gas mileage but still have not found them. Great for towing boats. But girls get so disappointed when I jump out and I am not as tall as I look sitting in it. ehhh can’t have everything. 😇
