The Delaware River is a popular recreational boating destination, offering waves up to 3 feet and some rocks exposed in rapids. The river current is approximately 2 mph, with waves between 4 to 5 feet and swift river currents at least 2.5 mph. Only larger rocks are exposed in rapids, with open and wide channels. Experience the Delaware River in a kayak for an awesome solo adventure. The 6 Mile River Trip – Smithfield beach to Kittatinny Point is our most popular trip. Self-guided canoe, kayak, or raft trips are available, with a paddle time of 2.5-3 hours.

The Delaware River Sojourn is a 7 or 8 day river trip starting in the Pocono Mountains and traveling to paddling and camping locations down the river. Semi-experienced should be able to do 3 mph with a total travel of 12-15 miles max. Rafts are much more suitable for this trip, as they can take up to 5 hours to complete. Paddling time for canoes and kayaks averages 2.5 miles per hour but varies greatly depending on river level, wind, current, and paddling skill.
