PO Cruises has delivered its largest cruise ship, Iona, to the British market in July 2021, after a year-long delay due to the pandemic. The 180,000-tonne, 5,200-passenger ship, measuring 344 meters in length and weighing 84,700 tons, is the largest ship in the PO Cruises fleet. It was built in May 2020 and has 15 guest decks. The ship is powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) and is the first British cruise ship to be powered by this fuel.
Iona began sailing in the spring of 2021 and is the first in the Excel-class line. It has 2,614 cabins and 15 decks accessible to guests. The ship’s gross tonnage is 184,089 GT, with a length of 344 meters, a beam of 42m, and a gross registered tonnage of 184,700 tons. It can accommodate 5,200 guests and 1,800 crew members.
