This isn’t a little injury. She could have EASILY broken her neck or spine and been killed or paralyzed for LIFE! RULES! BOUNDARIES! LIMITATIONS!
When I was on vacation with friends, we went to the top of a small hill to take pictures. I went a little closer to the edge of the cliff than the rest of them. When one of my friends noticed, she ran over yelling at me to come back. I wasn’t even close enough to fall. I told her I was fine, but she physically grabbed my hand and pulled me back, then stayed next to me to make sure I didn’t wander too close to the edge. Someone that is a ‘friend’, who genuinely cares about you, would NEVER do such a thing to you.
It was shown in court that the girl bullied the victim after the incident saying she wasn’t that badly hurt and was trying to get attention. It was also proven in court that she was extremely jealous of the victim before this happened. All of this was proven through the defendants own texts and witnesses who were friends of the defendant. She is a sick person. She needed much more time in jail.

It’s good that she was able to even get out of the water. Trying to breathe with broken ribs is PAINFUL. Plus, she was working with only one functioning lung. I hope there were people below to quickly help her. She may have been in the hospital 2 days, but I guarantee you her pain lasted longer than that.
Often people think, “it’s just water,” and don’t realize how from a certain height an impact like that can be deadly. I’m sure she regretted pushing her as soon as she realized her mistake, but if I was her I wouldn’t not take responsibility for my actions. Two days in jail is nothing compared to the consequences of the injury’s her friend sustained. I want to believe the reason she’s crying is in fact because she feels guilty and embarrassed to have done such a thing, but sometimes the way the media portrays these stories, you don’t know quite what to believe. That being said, there was more talk about getting her jail time reduced than how she truly feels on the matter. They simply extracted the most cliché line from her statement, that being, “sorry to the victim and her family (and blah blah blah)”. Anyways, If she were me, and it were my friend who got pushed, I’d be more than willing to do two days in jail, maybe even more. That’s all I wanted to say.
The pain and humiliation she has caused? Surely humiliation is a bad choice of words. More like pain and suffering. I feel sorry for everyone involved. That poor girl could easily have died or been paralysed for life. So glad she has recovered. Lesson learned by everyone following this story hopefully.
Broken ribs never ever feel the same, i broke two of them and to this day (after 5 years) i can still feel like it’s not 100% good to go, i cant even bench press to the fullest. And god knows what 6 broken ribs and a punctured lung feels like, all that pain for the rest of your life from such a dumb event and having a dumb friend.
I think it is reasonable since prosecutors asked for no jail time. She’s young, probably has a clean record, no bullying, just mindless horsing around with her friend. The judge just wanted to make sure she learned one of the most important life’s lessons one can learn: Actions have consequences. I bet she’s going to analyze her thoughts BEFORE she takes action from now on.
I was angry when I first saw this, did not know the girl was hurt. Glad she recovered. Lots of people do stupid stuff, but if you want to play with someone’s health and safety, be prepared for the consequences. This girl will have a lifetime of health consequences from a punctured lung and broken ribs. When you get older. You start to feel lots of your injuries from your youth.
2 days for attempted murder? She should be grateful she got such a light sentence. I somehow think she’s crying more about the consequences. She’s suffering then the damages she did to her former friend. I’m glad the friend she pushed off the bridge, survived and let me see. It’s amazing how laid-back and con she is when she talks to people about it. She doesn’t break down in tears or get shaky or anything. She’s able to talk about it with little to no visible emotion.
