Do You Need Covid Vaccine For Carnival Cruise?

Carnival Cruise Line has announced that it no longer requires passengers to show proof of a COVID-19 vaccine for all voyages except those departing from the United States. Vaccinated cruises are available for guests, and fully vaccinated guests must continue to provide evidence of their vaccination status prior to embarkation. Starting September 6, 2022, Carnival Cruise Line will implement new COVID-19 guidelines for both vaccinated and unvaccinated guests.

Vaccinated cruises are available for guests who received the final dose of the vaccine. The updated protocols include lab-administered tests and self-testing for unvaccinated guests on cruises 15 nights and shorter. Certain destinations do not require online check-in and arrival appointments.

Carnival Cruise Line has welcomed the decision to lift all government mandated COVID restrictions for guests, but encourages all guests, aged 5 years and older, to be up-to-date with their COVID-19 vaccines when eligible. Testing is not required for all guests, but the line recommends that anyone aged 5 years and older be up-to-date with their COVID-19 vaccines when eligible.

Guests no longer have to be vaccinated or tested to join Carnival Cruise Line sailings under 16 days in length, but only on cruises of 16 days or more. The company’s guidelines for a fun and safe cruise are available on its website.

What documents do I need to cruise on Carnival?

  • Your paper or digital airline tickets, if you are flying to your cruise departure port
  • Your cruise documents
  • Your passport, an enhanced driver’s license or a government-issued birth certificate to show proof of citizenship (take photos of these documents in case of loss)
  • A certificate of vaccination (if required)
  • A medical insurance card and your medical history
  • Copies of your prescriptions and a list of all medications you’re taking

On the first day of your cruise, it may take a few hours for your luggage to be delivered to your stateroom, but you don’t have to wait to have fun. Stuff a carry-on backpack with essentials like your cell phone, wallet, bathing suit and sunglasses, and start swimming, sunning or exploring your ship immediately. When it’s time for shore excursions, pack this handy tote with everything you’ll need for the day and save space for a few souvenirs you’ll pick up along the way.

Chances are, you’ll enjoy every day of your cruise in perfect health, but it’s good to be prepared for small ailments that might pop up like a scratchy throat, a headache or a blister. Bring along a small toiletry bag packed with pain relievers, cough drops, allergy medicine, adhesive bandages, antacids, antiseptic wipes, antibacterial hand gel and seasickness remedies like pills, wrist bands, skin patches or ginger chews.

Documents needed for cruisers to board a shipIdentification. … Boarding passes. … Health information. … Visas and other destination-specific documents. … Cruise line luggage tags. … Permission to travel. … Other travel information. … Emergency contacts.

Boarding a cruise ship isn’t like boarding a city bus or hopping on the subway. Because cruises involve international travel, you won’t be allowed to sail if you don’t have all the proper cruise documents and identification. That means you’ll want to know exactly what to take with you and, once you have a list, double- and triple-check it to ensure you haven’t forgotten anything.

The check-in process can be intimidating if you haven’t gone through it before. You might wonder what, exactly, cruise documents are, which ones you need and how you obtain them.

Gear up for a successful and stress-free embarkation day, and make sure you have all the necessary items on hand and ready to go with this guide.
