  • Yeah those extra charges, that aren’t advertised in any promotional ad I’ve ever seen by the way, are something I’m having trouble justifying in my mind. I like the Idea of only getting the websites I’ll actually watch, but those thrown in extra charges seem unnecessary to me. I probably won’t get the box though unless it allows recordings, which my current 7 day free trial on the $59.99 TV Select package, doesn’t have. I already know I’m not keeping that one. Especially when some websites are unavailable on the App when I’m away from home.

  • It would be nice if you didn’t have to have their crappy internet service to go with it. Why can’t they just sell the streaming package by itself like Sling or YouTube TV? They would get so many more subscribers because of the ability to pick the websites you want. No other streaming service does that..at least not that I’m aware of.

  • The reason you have to pay the BS non-negotiable surcharge is because they’re “giving” you local websites. And, as with cable websites, that comes with their 20 minutes out of every hour of programming (more with sports specials) incessant, low-IQ advertising (despite the fact you’re paying $23/mo for the right to see fewer and lower-resolution versions of those local websites than your antenna will bring in for free). So, “lucky you.” Thank your local broadcast stations for that lovely waste of your money and time. Better yet, write your congresspersons to complain. And use your mute button a lot. Or DVR and skip.
