  • I hate places like this that have servers and food like a restaurant in movie theaters. Can’t people go 2 hours without stuffing their faces with a full meal? You’re there to watch a piece of artistry in film. Not to be at a restaurant. It already used to frustrate me to have someone munching too loud on popcorn in a container as large as a horse’s feed bag. Now we have to have servers strolling in and out in the middle of a movie, or hear the clinking of plates or silverware? I’ve stopped going to a couple of my local movie theaters that I went to for over 25 years because they converted to this, and a a few other new theaters with this concept have already been built. I went to college for film production, and now my choices are very limited for just a regular movie theater, that isn’t a restaurant, that only emphasizes great picture and sound. Cell phones are still a problem as well. A few years ago a child was playing games on his cell phone about 3 seats to my right. It lit up the whole theater, and I couldn’t even concentrate on the movie it was so distracting. I leaned over and gestures for him to put it away, and his mother scolded me for it. As if I was in the wrong, and it was perfectly normal. Most of my theaters near me too now have assigned theater numbers, and make you pick your seat off a grid. Well unless I’ve been in that exact theater before, I have IDEA where I wan to sit, according to the screen size or slope of the seating. Once I have figured that out and want to switch my seat, the seats I DO want are taken.
