Can You Take A Razor On A Cruise?

Onboard Royal Caribbean Cruise Ships, certain items are prohibited, including firearms, ammunition, sharp objects, and personal grooming items like safety razors. These items include knives, scissors, and open razors. However, personal grooming devices such as hair dryers, flat irons, curling irons, shavers, and other electrical devices are allowed on board.

Cruise lines have lists of prohibited items on their websites, which include knives, sharp objects, straight razor blades, and open razors. Some cruise lines allow razors in carry-on luggage, while others require them to be packed in checked luggage. Guests should also avoid packing sharp objects like knives and scissors, with some exceptions.

Some items that typically won’t be allowed on board include CBD products, fireworks, and hoverboards. Cartridge blades and disposable razors are allowed in carry-on luggage, but loose razor blades, single or double-edged, are not allowed. Safety razors for personal grooming are allowed on all lines, but not on CBD and marijuana.

In the United States, each state individually interprets and enforces these rules. Personal grooming devices such as hair dryers, hair flat irons, curling irons, and shavers are allowed on board when used with proper caution. However, if such devices are used with excessive force, they may be confiscated by the Guest Services Manager or Chief Security Officer.

In summary, while it is possible to bring a razor on a Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship, guests should be aware of the rules and regulations and pack accordingly.

I am a school teacher who was bitten by the travel bug many decades ago. My husband Billy has come along for the ride and now shares my dream to travel the world with our three children. The kids Pollyanna, 13, Cooper, 12 and Tommy 9 are in love with plane trips (thank goodness) and discovering new places, experiences and of course Disneyland.

  • My daughter was taking a chef training course that ended the day before our cruise, so she flew to Florida and we boarded the ship. Each graduating chef was given a package of high quality knives as they left. She put them in her suitcase, of course. We didn’t think twice about it until she got called down to the naughty room. They gave them back at the end of the cruise.

  • The shampoo bottle hack isn’t new. We first did it in 2006. We did it in protest, however, because the cruise mandated that if one person is a cabin wanted the drink package, EVERYONE in that cabin had to get it and two out of three people didn’t drink alcohol at all. I understand why the rule is in place, but it’s completely unfair to non-drinkers.

  • I got called down once. The tiniest Swiss Army knife had gotten left in my crochet stuff. Once I came down and they searched my case and they saw it, they told me I could keep it in my cabin. It was a really embarrassing situation, but definitely something that helped me learn my lesson about double checking every pocket of every bag.

  • lol, we took a cruise several years ago where we leisurely traveled by car down to the port, making a stop in the Smoky Mountains. We played a really cool wizard game that you had to purchase wands with memory chips in the handles, and we just packed them into our luggage for the rest of the ride down to the port. Our luggage got detained in security, at the port, before boarding, because security wasn’t sure what they were. They did allow us to keep them and take them on the ship once we explained what they were.😂 Moral of the story: Unusual, but otherwise harmless items may cause you some unwelcome complications. Consider carefully what you put in your suitcase if it seems to you that it may fall outside the norm.

  • I recently got back from a 10 day Caribbean cruise. I have back issues, and a heating pad is so helpful. I researched an alternative, and found a wrap type pad that Velcro together around your waist, which was heat activated by a simple cellphone type charger. The charger slipped into a little pouch, and a wire in the pouch hooked up to the charger. It was a thin battery, not much weight to it. I wrapped that pad around my waist, and slipped the battery into the pouch. It worked so well. No one said a thing about it. I did not try to hide it either. Prior to boarding, I took it off and put it in my carry on suitcase. Nothing was said. The steward had to have seen it laying on the nightstand several times too. I got it from amazon. Hopefully I’ve not gotten away with anything corrupt 😂. I sure was open and honest about what I had 🤷‍♀️

  • Regarding taking drones on a cruise, research the respective port’s of calls you are visiting for local laws governing their use. I recently saw a vlog about a couple who were imprisoned for using a drone in the country they were visiting. They were unaware that the country had a strict no fly zone where they were using the drone.

  • I recently took a cruise to Mexico on Norwegian Cruise in March and I was allowed my power bar on the cruise. The reason was that the cabin power is linked to your card. If you want to keep the lights on and power plugs working while in your room, you need your key card in the power slot. If there is no card in there, there is no power and so no worries about hazards.

  • I packed one of the solid Renuzit air fresheners once. I waited and waited for my luggage which was never delivered. Finally we received a message to report to guest services to get my suitcase. I couldn’t figure out what had been confiscated because I knew I didn’t pack any verboten items. They took me behind the counter to the holding room to open my bag in their presence since it was locked with a TSA approved lock. To my surprise, they pulled out my Renuzit and said, Oh, that’s what that was! Evidently they thought it was a candle. So from then on, I always put it my carryon.

  • We were boarding a cruise that had a musician group that were to play and jam during the course of the cruise. As they checked in several tools needed for tuning and maintenance of their instruments were confiscated. This created an uproar. I do not know how it was settled. It was lovely to hear music throughout the ship at any given time.

  • I have A LOT of food allergies. I bring 1/2 a carry on suitcase with food to eat throughout the cruise. Cooking oil, pure honey, pure maple syrup, meat sticks, cashew butter, rice cakes…..are all ones I have brought onboard with no problem. IF they were to ask I have copies of my medical testing to prove that I can not have what most can have. I have never been denied my food on the ship but I am careful about taking food off and onto the islands.

  • yes After the Covid restart the security officer was having issues because I had a CPAP machine with an extension cord which had been on 15 previous cruises with Princess but after 20 dealing with her I asked for supervisor and once he arrived issue resolved and he apologized for his team member actions.

  • On our most recent cruise I was called down to the naughty room. When we arrived in Miami, we bought a 6 pack of 12oz (or so) Fiji water and put it in our checked bag . Security rang our room and asked us to come down. When we got down there and opened the bag, one security guard had no idea what the bottles were, but another was laughing and a little embarrassed that they had called us down for it.

  • My husband has a multi tool that he carries in his shave kit that he has carried (and used) on every cruise that we have gone on except one. This multi tool comes with bits to fit the screwdriver part of the tool. We took a Canada-New England cruise on Carnival and they told us that we had to either return them to our vehicle or that they would be confiscated because they looked like bullets. All you had to do was look at them (which they did) to know that they weren’t but because they looked like bullets on the Xray, they were going to take them. Our vehicle was parked close by so hubby returned them to our vehicle.

  • We just ended a HAL trip from Boston to Montreal. When we arrived, our room steward asked us if we needed an extension cord in our suite and he brought it to us – so I guess it’s ok if the ship gives the cord to you but you cannot bring your own. When we cruise on older ships, or ships designed for European market, we have converter plugs that have never been confiscated (yet) after 15 + cruises on Regent, Royal, HAL and Celebrity.

  • A life long buddy just did an Alaska Cruise and had an amazing time. One of his Daughters brought that steamer thing. It didn’t get discovered until Ketchikan and the room stew took it but left a detailed note why. “Cruise approved” per Amazon…oh no it was not. The best part of the story was they had to wait a full HOUR at cruise end but didn’t know why….it was the steamer back!

  • My brother in law got called to the naughty room because he tried to sneak Jack Daniels in a Listerine bottle. They made him open the suitcase in front of security and asked him what it was. 😂 we got a good laugh – he wasn’t kicked off, they just confiscated it…but I think he really was trying to see if he could get away with it, not so much trying to cheap out on drinks – LOL

  • My husband always has a knife in his pocket (he’s my MacGyver). NCL said under 4″ blade was allowed. It was in the suitcase because we flew to the port, totally forgot about it. Had a note in our room to go to the naughty room. They measured the blade at just over 4″ so it was held during the cruise. We did get it back at the end. He has a specific one that he has purchased for cruising now and we didn’t have an issue this last time.

  • So, 🙄 the comment about the camouflage shorts is spot on! We nearly missed an excursion because of this 🤦🏼 We reserved an ATV excursion, we’re ready to go, heading out the exit, almost out…. then? 2 security guards, stopped us, had my husband go back in and change his camouflage cargo shorts 😮 . They told us he cannot wear these, we were in Honduras? 🤔 I believe it was. He ran against the flow of traffic, everyone coming out, going down, and here he’s going back up! 😕 We’re all looking at the time, we had the excursion pending. He made it back quick, and we made it to the excursion. Whew! 🙄 After that stint, never again! Thanks for bringing up that point. 👍🏼🙂

  • MANY years ago, as we were going through security check before getting on the ship, I was pulled aside and they started going through my purse. They were very serious, and it was a little scary. I had no idea what was going on, then one of the security guards starts laughing as he pulled out my keys, which had a whistle on it. On camera that whistle looked like a small gun. We all had a good laugh, and I never carry any whistles or anything that looks like that whenever I travel and have to go through security.

  • Yep! On Celebrity Equinox, Jan 2024, I brought a nonsurge protected power strip and was confiscated… very bad treatment since no note was put on the system neither a note in my cabin. So we though my luggage never made it the ship. I reported it at 1am and I was called at 4am to pick it up at the dungeon with a very agressive and unrespectful crewmember from India. Had to let him know the treatment was disrespectful and also to the guest relations crew and not a word from Celebrity. Very diferent from when I took it on 2016. Love your articles, congrats !!!🎉❤Maribel from Puerto Rico in the Caribbean😊

  • Plastic drink bottles are banned on many cruise ships now but Stainless Steel bottles are still good. Fill stations are not provided but you can fill in a glass and pour from the glass to the SS container. Next cruise we will bring a 32 ox wide mouth SS insulated bottle as it will be easier to add ice.

  • Before my first cruise, my agent sent me a list of things that she recommended I take, including a power strip. I got it on my Princess cruise with no issues, and considering I had all of two outlets in the entire room, I was grateful for it. I could charge my phone and use my flattening iron at the same time.

  • Hi 👋 from Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺. When I went on a P&O cruise from Australia 🇦🇺, I was told by Flight Centre not to bring a power board. Because I’m a paraplegic & require a wheelchair all the time. I asked if I could bring my power wheelchair & my manual wheelchair, just in case I had any problems with my power chair. That was fine. They said if I needed a power board in my room they would provide one. My Room Attendant was very nice & went & got me one. Where I had to put my electric wheelchair to get on the bed, the cord for my charger wouldn’t reach the power point. Staff were always polite & nice. The other thing. Why is CBD Oil band. CBD doesn’t cause the side effects or hallucinations, like THC does. In Australia, Medical Marijuana is now Legal. Some people take it legally for pain relief. If the CBD Oil is prescribed by a Medical Doctor, can you get permission to bring it?. Thanks.

  • Why are we allowed to bring a large flat iron for hair straightening and not a small travel iron for clothes? Curling iron, yes. Clothing steamer, no. Hair steaming curlers, yes. Small, auto shut-off, travel steamer, no. It seems like strange hodgepodge of reasoning to me. 😂 I would understand if they were all banned due to fire hazard, but to ban some and not others is confusing. I actually took my new favorite Revlon hair dryer that has a round brush attached to the end of it in my recent cruise in the Norwegian Bliss. The first time I plugged it in and started using it we noticed it was SMOKING after less than a minute of use! I quickly turned it off and left it off for the rest of the vacation! But, after that, I sure was thankful I could still use my flat iron. And BONUS, my flat iron was also used to press my son’s shirts, my husband’s slacks and two of my dresses! 😂

  • I got my medium sized craft scissors taken away from me…I was planning on crocheting Christmas snowflake ornaments… they taped them up, put my name on them and told me I could get them after the end of my cruise. I ended up throwing them away once I received them back because the tape/stickiness wouldn’t come off 🤪🤣

  • Nothing confiscated because we always double check what is allowed before we cruise. However, we took a fan on a Disney Cruise and had good advice to carry it on. That way we could stop at their area just past security at the port and drop it off for them to check. This avoided any luggage delays and we received the fan back in our cabin later that afternoon.

  • I went on 7 previous cruises and took a surge protected power strip on all of them and never had anyone tell me they weren’t permitted, and I took them in my carry on that was inspected by security.. Since I found out, I went and bought a non surge protected strip for a few dollars at Walmart. Some of the other items mentioned are a little over the top to me..

  • Just got back from a cruise from Tokyo to Dubai. Because we had to take more than 30 days of prescription medicine with us, Japan required a form to be completed with a detailed list of the medication, dosage, manufacturing company, country of manufacture, and other information. When we went through customs, they did not ask for the form. We never buy the drink package. My wife is taking a medicine that prohibits the consumption of Alcohol, and I do not drink that much. Also, one of the two cruise lines we use (Viking) includes beer or wine at lunch and dinner. The other (Oceania) gave us a bottle of wine and a bottle of champagne in our cabin when we arrived. I carry an electrical cube that I plug into the European outlet in the cabin. It has 4 US outlets and 2 USB A ports. It comes with adapters for European, British, Australian, and US outlets. I would not consider taking CBD products on a cruise. Singapore and some of the other countries we visited, would put you in prison or worse for bringing drugs into the country.

  • We were recently on Royal Caribbean’s adventure of the seas and I bought a “Cruise approved” power strip, which they immediately confiscated. It did not have a surge protector. I would encourage people to not bring anything with an extension cord at all. Also, don’t bother picking up any seashells on the islands. They take those when you get back on the ship.

  • Not confiscated exactly but Down to the naughty room for explanation A friend wore the swim dress type of bathing suit. Usually those will float up in the water. She had found that pulling little weights in the hem would keep that from happening. The screeners saw all this metal and thought they were some kind of ammunition. Once she took out the swim dress explained and showed them they let her go.

  • Alcohol? Hey if you like a drink like I do .. Pony up for the Drink package! Sure it’s expensive, but you can play a game called “Make the Drink Package Worthy”! LOL The thing about the Drink Package too is you can get fancy cocktails, that you world not get at your local Pub, the bartenders are real artists on the ship!!

  • I carefully measured my scissors to be sure they were within the cruise ship limits. My husband had to go down to get my suitcase because of the “large knife” I had “concealed”. They were a very new crew with inadequate training. My husband opened my suitcase and got out my scissors. The supervisor agreed that they were easily within the agreed limits and then he scolded the new security guys. So…even following the rules can cause issues.

  • Just a tip about razors! I use a traditional metal (men’s) safety razor, you know, the kind- the ones your grandfather used for forever? They are very eco-friendly and affordable but maybe rethink them for a cruise! Mine was in my luggage, disassembled in a little bag and it caused us a lot of problems! They escorted my party off the ship, interviewed us repeatedly with armed guards, and even called the sheriff to the port. They thought it was ammunition or a vape component and wouldn’t believe me that it was my shaving tool. (I had unscrewed it before traveling to remove the blade for the safety of those checking bags so it was in three parts with a few unopened blades in their box in the same little bag) After taking apart my whole bag and x-raying everything multiple times they were still convinced it was a bullet! Anyway, after about an hour of interviews, they finally let me back on the ship. with my razor! I tried to tell them I would just throw it out to solve the problem but since they thought it was a weapon they were deciding if I needed to be arrested I guess. \\_(ツ)_/¯

  • I’m on a cruise right now, Wi-Fi works great, I seriously thought about doing the alcohol tricks but thought better of it. Kind of regretting it as the alcohol seems to be watered down. I usually get a coke and a shot of jack on the side to add to my drink myself so I can be sure that I in fact got what I a paid for; and I still could barely taste the alcohol.

  • I was able to take a heating pad (not a blanket) on a cruise. I had asked their customer service ahead, printed the email, and had a note from my doctor. I have taken a tiny travel iron on a cruise, but it was many years ago. The room divider curtain is about it’s not going to have the fire retardant on it.

  • My husband’s suitcase was sent to the naughty room on a Princess cruise because they said that there was an iron in it. It was a heating pad and once he showed it to them they released his suitcase heating pad and all. So now I am curious if when we travel to the Panama Canal in January, is he going to be able to take his heating pad…

  • After getting caught with a bottle of Canadian Whiskey, my father would pack two bottles, get called to the naughty room, walk to his bag, zip it open, pull out one bottle, walk it to the counter, sigh and say”you caught me” check the bottle and head to the room with his suitcase and second bottle safe. This was late 90s, early 00s so they may be looking for visual checks now, but he got his late night in room nightcap and was pretty proud he figure out the hack

  • ……just for context….the biggest risk to life on ANY cruise ship is fire and so anything that can generate heat is cause for concern (even those plug in room fragrances) so while it may seem like a cash grab (paying for laundry services instead of using your portable steamer) it’s not. When you think about news stories where people left a candle burning or overloaded a power socket and returned to their house in ashes imagine that on a cruise ship with over 5000 people on it in the middle of the ocean. Sorry to be a Debbie downer but just leave those items at home and enjoy your time away.

  • Hi, I’m so glad I found your website. Great content. I will be going on a European cruise in a fews weeks. My husband and I don’t really drink alcohol or soda, so not getting the drink package. We do drink a lot of water, especially me. How safe is the water on the cruise ship? Should I bring reusable water bottles, or do I just purchase the water package, which is kind of pricey. Thank you

  • Yes ago I took a steam box iron and on a Cunard cruise in my hand luggage and they never said a thing. Crowbar in suitcase too. Just too many restrictions for me to bother going on on. When handheld fans get taken away, I’ll stay away. I totally understand why they are minimising fire risk, I just find it exhausting to comply: can’t take this, can’t that.

  • Yes, I didn’t know irons were prohibited,,, we took a cruise in 2007 and I received a note under the door to go down to security. I had to open my suitcase and they got my iron. I was devastated for I iron all my clothes before putting them on. They gave me a ticket with instructions on how to retrieve the iron the night before the ship docked. Somehow, I survived! Lol

  • My cousin had to go to the “naughty room” for a travel iron. The funny thing though is there was a woman down there with a Cheetah head band with ears and her “cheetah ” hancuffs had been confiscated. My friend also put whisky in Dr Tiscner’s bottles and didn’t get caught. However, sge had to poor out the whisky because it tasted like Dr Tischner.

  • We have a foolproof way to get our alcohol onboard but sorry I can’t say how I don’t want it known because someone would ruin it for me. And for all of you that want to bash me for it I don’t do it to be cheap only for the convenience of having it in my room so I don’t have to run back and forth to the bar even when I bring my own I pay for quite a bit of drinks through the day and night and still sometimes buy the drink package as well on certain cruise lines

  • Well, I don’t have to worry about hubby and camo clothes. After 33 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, he loathes that dark green Pierre Trudeau had everyone wearing or the combats during his time with a land unit. I have yet to call HAL, but one of my questions will be if my Dr. Ho’s foot pads (travel version) are allowed. It’s the one with the battery pack. I’m sure hubby will have questions, too.

  • Cruise liners now do not allow the use of FRS/GMRS radios, portable HAM radios & portable CB radios. They will take them away but you can still bring a portable AM/FM radio but you will not get anything at sea. Some ships now broadcast music throughout the ship on FM & you can hear it on your radio when at sea but not when they dock.

  • If I understand correctly, before boarding, the luggage is checked even more carefully than the luggage that goes on an airplane. I have a question about article cameras; I have a professional camera (independent cameraman), are there any restrictions for that. I have always problems with my Sony camera with the TSA. Now that you’ve explained the trick with the shampoo bottles, I think there will now be jokers who will fill those fake bottles with real shampoo to annoy the cruise line’s security. Are they knowing all the brands of the whole world that are making shampoo?

  • 😮I saw a guest her vape in her hand and took a puff while walking in an open area this past May. This is why I don’t feel sorry when people are thrown off the ship. Please, adults, just follow the rules on the cruise ships or just don’t cruise. There’s a reason why you have a certain area to smoke. I L.O.V.E, your dress and hair Ilana ❤

  • So many rules, the list keeps getting longer. I get that many people like the convenience of cruising if they live within a 2 hours drive of a port city But for those that don’t and have to fly to make it into a port city, is it worth it? The cruise security screening is worse than any airport customs screening I have ever been through

  • The large fake shampoo and conditioner bottles have been used for at least 10 years. They even have those foam safety seals so it looks like the bottle was never opened. They’re not just catching up to it. Nobody usually has a 32oz bottle of shampoo, so these sized bottles are now getting flagged in the scanner. FYI, the new scanners are AI driven, and they’re much, much harder to get something by because they’re looking for patterns they know are potential liquor smuggling devices. Frankly, the cruise lines themselves are driving this because drinks on a cruise ship were always a great deal, but when cruise lines decided they were Las Vegas and started charging insane prices, that’s when this really started to happen.

  • My brother in law was a civil engineer for a huge US oil company before our family cruise the porter at the Galveston dock accidentally unloaded his site bag with family luggage. Needless to say within 30 minutes we hear Mr…. Please report to security. He had two machete in his bag from his trip to Colombia jungles. Luckily he had his briefcase with documentation and it was returned at end of trip. But boy was her RED😂

  • I always change from my regular purse to a small crossbody bag when I’m going on vacation, whether on a plane, a train, a boat or just in my car. I weed through my cards, taking my DL, two credit cards, debit card, insurance cards, and my passport. I also assure that I don’t have my pocket knife, loose pills, stray ammunition… I thought everyone did this.

  • During my first cruise (years ago ) when I was in my early twenties. I snuck a few plastic bottles of Mike’s hard lemonade in my checked luggage. I got on without any problems. So the next year, I decided to test the limits: I took an ENTIRE case worth of Mike’s (interspersed between two people’s luggage); Needless to say I ended up in the naughty room Haha… The security guards had me open my luggage and pull out the bottles, They had me put it in a box and held it for me till the last night of the cruise when I was able to pick it up….. that was a fun night 🙂 That was it…. no biggie. My worst “consequence” was an eye-roll from a fellow passenger who was down there with her teenage son; (due to a diving knife), probably because I was giving him “ideas” . Bottom line, they want to keep their cruisers happy so punishments are mild for minor infringements. That being said; my experience most likely would have been completely different if I had smuggled something that was legit illegal; like drugs (which I don’t do) onboard . This time around, I am strongly considering filling two green wine bottles with rum, I seriously doubt they will be checking seals especially if it’s bubble-wrapped. And if they do…. Oh well, guess I’ll be down in the naughty room again 🙂

  • To see all CPAP users do not bring jugs of distilled water drugs do not have screw tops. Go to your local store and buy the distilled water and buy the bottles that are package make sure they are sealed when going through customs to get on the boat make sure you have your CPAP machine in your hand so they could see that hey this is a medical device. If you do not want to carry your distilled water and just want to get it from the cruise ship you have to contact them they will charge you but they will have your water in your room it will be expensive.

  • The no large scissors is a bit of a stretch in my opinion. Some people LOVE scrapbooking, for example and big craft scissors make nice straight cuts But? …SURE a half a pair of scissors (a Siz?) makes a decent “Jail Shiv” weapon. BUT they hand out steak knives at every meal too, and there’s plenty in the Kitchen, The only thing I can think rather than real safety / security issue .. is liability, by banning them, they are making the best effort for passenger and crew safety. I guess that makes in an understandable precaution .. And I guess ??? seriously??? in stead of fancy dressmaker’s shears … a rounded nose medium sized pair of craft scissors, is not going to ruin the cruise for ANYONE! 🙂

  • Those people that go to great lengths to sneak alcohol, my goodness! Don’t be so cheap people 😂 Is there a spot on Royal Caribbean’s site where we can find the list of prohibited items? Can we bring bottled water in our suitcase? I need water at night and don’t want to have to go and get water from the buffet before going to bed at night. Nor do I want to pay a premium for bottled water if I can avoid it😬

  • Taking an iron onto a cruise ship is not as bad as forgetting you have a facial razor in your purse…when you are entering the Angola Prison Rodeo…yep, I got through somehow and when my Mom asked me for a pen…I saw it…a shank. I was horrified, but had a great time at the rodeo. Live and Learn!

  • Speaking of flowers, I got my wife a rose on the ship a couple weeks ago, from an onboard store. It was still in really good shape at the end of the cruise, so she took it with her. Customs at disembarkation checked the rose for bugs and made her fill out a form of some sort. We just thought that was kinda silly.

  • Ilana, I saw something in a previous vid where you suggested a small medication tray that you picked up at a dollar store for your travels. Bad Idea. I am sure that you are not aware the in the U.S.A., if you do not have your prescription medication in the bottle that you got at a pharmacy with the printed label you could be held for transporting a ‘controlled substance’. All prescription medications are controlled substances, this is why you have to have the doctor’s signature to get them in the US. Now sense everyone is going through customs, that could come up if that inspector has had a bad day. I have no idea how other countries view it but I am sure no one wants to miss a trip for something so dumb and avoidable.

  • actually, YES..!! my intellectually disabled brother would carry around screwdrivers in his pockets..I took him on his first cruise back in early 2019..I forgot to check his pockets and they got found as we went through the gadgets..they were taken from him..we could have retrieved them upon return but I decided not to remind him about them…he had plenty to spare..besides, they were generally pretty much stripped phillip heads or bent flat heads, but he loved having them on him anyway..

  • After more thinking about camouflage clothing, I guess it would be okay to weart shorts on the ship, but not wear them off the boat in another country. I usually wear them over my swimming trunks to go swimming at the beaches, but probably will not do that anymore. Have to purchase plain color cargo shorts to go off the boat. How about camouflage backpacks, I am sure many travelers will have them and I have not read anything regarding them to be banned. My safari hat can be considered camo, I guess I will have to fight for that. The sun can be brutal, esp when I am kayaking. Anyone here want to offer any more opinions?

  • Funny about the alcohol. My friends and i have been cruising for yrs. 2-3 cruises per yr, mostly out of Florida. And a few out of Los Angeles where we live. We have smuggled sooooo much alcohol on everyone of our cruises and still haven’t gotten caught 😮. Mostly Titos and whiskey. I have to admit though, it is a certain science/trick to it 😅😂. And we don’t use the fake bottles of whatever. Also did a themed cruise where one night was costume night. I got a realistic plastic toy gun on board. Folks couldn’t believe i did it 😉😊😇. I dressed as Nick Fury 😆😅🤣😂😢

  • So as someone who has never drunk alcohol, some of the things y’all do just to have your drinks and even save money on them… I can’t help but think, Damn! Y’all are just a bunch of alcoholics! Okay, as a non-drinker, I tend to think that about drinkers anyways, like when I walk into a house and there is a freaking wine fridge! Like WTF? Oh, and when you look at the really big houses online, they all have wine cellars! For some reason, my first thought is why? Then I think someone might need an intervention… Some time in rehab maybe? LOL! Alcohol gives me a massive cluster headache which is worse than a migraine and used to be referred to as a suicide headache because people who would suffer from it would often just permanently check out to get rid of the headaches. That being said, I don’t find alcohol very enjoyable and those headaches give me a bad attitude to boot… That is why I just don’t understand people even wanting to drink let alone going out of their way to drink. I know it is rather judgmental of me, but so be it!

  • Pro tip, put any THC/CBD or even psychedelic mushroom gummies in an empty vitamin gummy bottle. No one will know. Just make sure you do NOT take the bottle off the ship at any ports of call, and either use or throw away any remaining gummies before your return. THAT is where customs has the sniffer dogs. So really this title should be “11 prohibited items not to take on a cruise”.
