Can You Bring Liquor On Disney Cruise?

Disney Cruise Line allows guests 21 years and older to bring alcohol onboard, but only in their cabin or dining room if they pay a corkage fee. Guests can bring a maximum of 2 bottles of unopened wine or champagne (no larger than 750 ml) or 6 beers (no larger than 12 ounces) on board at the beginning of the voyage and at each port of call. Guests must comply with all laws and Disney Cruise Line policies related to the consumption and distribution of alcohol.

Guests cannot bring liquor and spirits, including rum, onboard with them as they start their voyage. If purchased at a port of call, guests can bring two bottles of wine per adult or a 12-pack of beer. However, they must carry the wine or beer on board, not pack it.

All alcohol brought on board must be in the original unopened container, and partially used bottles and those with broken seals are prohibited. Non-alcoholic beverages can be brought onboard, but must be carried onto the ship and hauled around. Adult guests over 21 can bring up to two bottles of wine or six beers on board at the beginning of their voyage and at each port.

Guests are not allowed to bring beer or hard liquor onboard for consumption or any other use.

Alcoholic beverages (beer, seltzer, or hard liquor) seized on embarkation day will be returned at the end of the voyage provided that they are in the original sealed package. Security may inspect containers (water bottles, soda bottles, mouthwash, luggage, etc.) and will dispose of containers holding alcohol. Guests who violate any alcohol policies, (over consume, provide alcohol to people under the legal drinking age, demonstrate irresponsible behavior, or attempt to conceal alcoholic items at security and or luggage check points or any other time), may be disembarked or not allowed to board, at their own expense, in accordance with ourGuest Conduct Policy. Guests who are under the permitted drinking age will not have alcohol returned to them. Please Note: All guests must comply with TSA guidelines for transporting liquids.

On embarkation day, each guest of drinking age may bring one sealed 750 ml bottle of wine or champagne. Boxed wine and other containers are prohibited. Guests who purchase alcohol bottles onboard, in a port-of-call, or bring more than the one permitted bottle on boarding day, will have their items safely stored by the ship. These bottles will be returned on the last day onboard for enjoyment once home.

For consecutive sailings, guests of drinking age are allowed to bring one 750 ml bottle of wine or champagne for each individual sailing. Additional bottles will be stored by the ship and delivered, one bottle at a time, to the stateroom on the first day of each new voyage. Guests bringing more than one bottle at the start of the first sailing should have documentation for any consecutive sailings available to share with security.

Can I bring my own water bottle on Disney cruise?

You’re welcome to bring water bottles in your carry-on luggage. Disney recommends that your day bag not exceed 9″ x 14″ x 22″ to pass easily through the security scanners. Just remember that water is heavy, and your stateroom may not be available when you board. To help ease the load, I recommend opting for a bag with wheels to navigate the ship comfortably.

Did you know complimentary filtered water is available at the beverage station on Deck 9? Disposable paper cups are available for a quick sip on the go, or you can use a paper cup to refill your own water bottle. I like to bring a few refillable cups from home. It’s a smart way to ensure you always have water on hand, especially as you explore the enchanting offerings aboard the Disney Wonder.

While hanging out, treat yourself to a piping-hot batch of Tiana’s sugary beignets from the French Quarter Lounge. And for an extra dose of fun, hop aboard the full-size streetcar! Check out the lounge menus and entertainment options conveniently on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. May you savor every drop of joy on your Disney Cruise!

How do cruise ships detect alcohol?

Body Scanners. While cruise ships don’t typically have the scanning technology you’ll find at airports, you’ll still have your luggage scanned and need to walk through an X-ray machine.

This machine can detect any liquids you may be carrying on your person, meaning you can’t hide any small bottles of alcohol in your pockets!

Room Inspections. Even if you somehow get past the cruise ship scanner with your booze, there’s still a chance of getting caught sneaking alcohol. Any cruise line can inspect any cruise passenger’s room for any reason. You’ll find this in your cruise contract, where you can also read the alcohol policy.

While most cruise lines aren’t in the habit of doing random searches, there’s still a possibility that they’ll search your cabin, especially if they suspect something is wrong.

Do they search your bags on a Disney cruise?

Are there size limits to the bags I’m allowed to bring on board?. There are no stated size limits for bags that porters bring onto the ship for you. Again, you should keep in mind the amount of storage space in a DCL stateroom, but the exact dimensions of a checked bag don’t matter too much.

There are size limits for bags that you carry on to the ship yourself. Any bag that you carry on yourself will be x-ray scanned, just like at an airport. The maximum size allowed to fit into the scanner is 22″ high, 14″ wide, and 9″ deep. (I’ve personally found that there is some fudge room on the depth if you have an odd-shaped tote or backpack, but those are DCL’s stated rules so your mileage may vary.)

DCL mailed me luggage tags. What do I do with them?. If you’ve booked your sailing more than about five weeks in advance, DCL will send you a small folder in the mail that includes some basic information about your sailing as well as two luggage tags per person in your sailing party. They look similar to the tag an airline uses to identify your bag when you’re flying, but they will be printed with the DCL logo, your name, your ship’s name, your sail date, your reservation number, and some bar codes.

These tags should be affixed to the handle of your luggage on the morning of your sailing. If you’re flying to your embarkation port, you should avoid putting the DCL tags on your bags prior to your flight. They could unnecessarily confuse your airline.

How strict is Disney with alcohol?

This policy is intended to bothdeter guests from becoming too intoxicated and limit the ability of guests to buy drinks for other people using their own I.D. Cast Members are also trained to refuse drinks to guests who already appear intoxicated, regardless of whether they are at a quick service or table service location. So if you’re suspect, don’t be surprised if a Cast Member cuts you off. Of course, you will be able to get more than 2 drinks if it is a flight of beer or wine like at the Food & Wine Festival.

If your party splits up to get items from different festival booths, remember this rule — you won’t be able to grab drinks for a party of 3 or more.

You Can’t Take Open Containers Out Of A Park. Yep, you can purchase and wander with alcohol in Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but you can’t leave the park with it.

Can you bring alcohol in your luggage on a cruise?

Guests are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages on board with the following exception – at the beginning of the cruise during embarkation day only, guests (21 years of age and older) may bring one 750-ml bottle of sealed/unopened wine or champagne, per person, in their carry-on luggage.* Outside this exception, …

Proper travel documentation is required at embarkation and throughout the cruise. Even though a guest has completed registration using Online Check-in, it is still the responsibility of the guest to present the required travel documents at the time of embarkation. Guests should check with their travel agent and/or government authority to determine the travel documents necessary for each port of call. Any guest without proper documents will not be allowed to board the vessel and no refund of the cruise fare will be issued. Carnival assumes no responsibility for advising guests of proper travel documentation.

Except where it is a mandatory requirement, Carnival highly recommends that all guests travel with a passport book. The passport book must be valid for at least six months beyond the completion of travel. This will enhance the debarkation experience as delays may be expected upon return to the United States for those without one. Additionally, this will enable guests to fly from the United States to meet their ship at a foreign port should they miss their scheduled port of embarkation and allow guests who must disembark the ship before their cruise ends, due to an emergency, to fly back to the United States without significant delays and complications.

For cruises that begin and end in the same U.S port, the following WHTI-compliant documents are acceptable for cruise travel. Please note that if the cruise visits Colombia or Greenland, a passport book(valid for at least six months beyond the completion of travel) is required. A passport card with the same validity is also acceptable for cruises to Colombia.

Can you bring liquids on Disney cruise?

Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney – we leave no vacation planning detail behind as we share our best advice with you. Packing and prepping for a Disney Cruise Line vacation is one of my favorite things to think about, so I’m happy to share a few tips.

There are no rules or policies against bringing unsealed cosmetic and toiletry items onboard, though any bottled water you bring onboard must be factory sealed. Disney Cruise Line provides complimentary quality products in your stateroom for use – beautifully scented shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, and hand soap. You may bring your own if you prefer but these Disney Cruise Line products have a spa-like feel to them and may help save some space in your luggage. Your caring Stateroom Host will replenish anything you use so you’ll be all set for the length of your voyage.

If you bring your products from home, I suggest placing the opened bottles inside a larger bag or container with a tight seal to avoid any spills on your journey. The Crew Members work very hard to move lots of luggage from port and deliver it safely to your room, but it may get jostled along the way. Please also be sure to verify any requirements regarding liquids in your luggage with your airline, if air travel is a part of your transportation to the port.

I’m happy to share that laundry detergent and dryer sheets are also available onboard, for a nominal fee with the washing machine and dryer fees. You don’t have to pack any coins or cash; your Key to the World card will be used for payment the same way you do all onboard charges to your stateroom account. I prefer to pack laundry detergent gel-like pods in a small bag to save space and prevent spills (which would require even more laundry) when I travel, but you may bring whatever is most comfortable for you.
