The Astero is a cruiser for the Sisters of EVE faction, introduced in Rubicon 1.0. It can be used to scare away covopst1 frigs or kill them, but its scan strength is lower than a covops at CovOps IVV. The Stratios is slower but can be used to tank a ghost site explosion if that’s your thing. The benefit of a stratios is you can fit some offensive capabilities on an exploration ship, but it turns into an expensive option.
The Astero can field decent enough tanks and be able to run through gatecamps and have a quick align. It also kills others explorers decent enough. The Stratios beats the frigate explorers but does not have the ability to pass gatecamps as easily as the Astero does and unfortunately cannot match the T3 cruisers.
In PvE, assault frigates solo PVP have been largely positive, getting a ton of fights and holding their own against most comparable ship classes. The Stratios is the cruiser for the Sisters of EVE faction and has bonuses to drones and armor resists, the largest drone bay available in the cruiser. It can launch a flight of five light drones, which have a bonus to durability but not to damage, making them strong against frigates.
The Stratios is a shiny ship, meaning people will automatically assume you are hauling something expensive and attempt to shoot you down. To use the Stratios effectively, you need a cloak, enough fire power, and tank to kill a frigate.

What eats a frigate?
Predators of frigatebirds include: domestic cats, rats and humans. Frigatebirds may kill chicks and eggs of conspecifics and congeners.
Frigatebirds are considered seasonally monogamous. Males gather in groups to display for females by spreading their wings, inflating their large scarlet gular sacs, and pointing their bills skywards. When a female flies over the group, each male quivers wings and head, and the bill vibrates against the inflated pouch producing a distinctive drumming sound. A female will land next to one male and two or three days of pair-formation ensues with periods of head snaking and the male taking the female’s bill into his own. The pair takes two to three weeks to build a nest on the display site. The male collects nesting material (sometimes pilfering from nearby nests) whereas the female defends the site and builds a nest from the materials brought by the male. Copulations occur at the nest site.
Frigatebirds breed in colonies numbering up to several thousand pairs. Breeding is considered biennial, although in some populations females may breed biennially whereas males may breed annually. The beginning of breeding is variable and may coincide with food availability. Nest-sites include trees, bushes, and cliffs. Nesting material consists of twigs, leaves, grass, seaweed and feathers. Females generally lay one whitish egg per clutch.

INTRODUCTION. Frigates are an indispensable part of any navy. These ships usually form the numerical bulk of a naval fleet as they are relatively cheaper than large destroyers and cruisers. Every modern navy operates frigates in some or the other form and uses them along with larger surface combatants like destroyers and aircraft carriers. The definition of a modern frigate by Defencyclopedia is.
A modern frigate is a 3000-7000 ton warship, equipped with an array of missiles, guns and radars, and is designed to operate autonomously, along with a battle group or act as an escort for non-combatants, in order to fulfill a variety of tasks depending on the mission.
A warship displacing 5000-7000 tons need not always be called as a frigate, as many navies prefer the designation of a ‘destroyer’ for such warships. The designations vary from one navy to another, but the role of the ships does not change. Some countries call their larger surface combatants as frigates for political reasons and some others call their smaller surface combatants as frigates. A modern frigate can displace anywhere between 3000-7000 tons. But for the sake of this article, only frigates displacing 4000-7000 tons will be considered.
Can a frigate beat a battleship?
Any decently tanky battleship will tank a frigate all day, and the fight will come down to whoever’s backup arrives first. Long range sniper bs typically use their low slots for tracking and dps and have little to no tank. Most frigates will have little trouble killing one of those if they catch it alone.
What is the best l4 ship in Eve?
Marauders. Marauders are the strongest all-around level 4 mission runners by a large margin. There are extensive discussions about which marauder is actually the best. This mostly depends on the mission you run.
This page discusses which ships are especially well suited to run security missions. You can find information about mining and distribution missions on their pages. For general information about missions, see the missions page.
General ship preferences. Encounter missions are about killing enemies, and you can use any kind of ship that has enough offense to get that done. (For example, I once started a character by training Covert Ops to a high level, for reasons having nothing to do with missions. Later, when I decided to start running security division missions with that character, I used a Minmatar Hound stealth bomber. This is not a particularly good mission ship, but I had no problem completing level 1 and 2 missions.) The point is: it’s all about killing enemy ships – don’t let somebody else’s opinion of what’s “best” get in the way of your preferences, experience, and skills.
That said, although any kind of ship can be successful in running missions because PvE targets come in waves, and because survivability is one of your goals, brawling tactics are somewhat less desirable in encounter missions than sniping and/or kiting. Faster ships, in particular missile and drone boats, tend to give better support to these kinds of tactics.

What is an assault frigate?
Assault Frigates are an advanced class of combat frigate designed around firepower and survivability. They utilize redundant systems and an reinforced alloys to improve their survivability, making them capable fighters in the small hull arena. Popular amongst capsuleers, they are hands down some of the hardest hitting frigates to be found.
###HistoryMilitary contractors have always endeavored to create the finest in direct combat vessels, and the frigate hull types have been no different. For many centuries, frigates remained relatively limited in just how much punishment they could survive or deliver without sacrificing critical levels of effectiveness in either area. Most popular designs painstakingly struck a delicate balance between the two, which while effective, left the dream of a hard hitting ‘assault frigate’ out of reach.
Upon the discovery of practical morphite applications, the applications it allowed became immediately clear to combat frigate designers. Set upon with vigor, the newly possible Assault Frigate was to be the direct combat answer to the fast-attack Interceptor. Early on, the Assault Frigate was designed around the hydrostatic capsule variants of existing frigates. This saved valuable development time that would otherwise be spent on making a ground-up design, and allowed for higher standards of operation that could not be achieved by a less reactive standard crew complement.
Are assault frigates good?
Assault Frigates. Assault Frigates are no-nonsense combat frigates that offer either high durability, high damage, or both; and as they are still frigates, they are often very difficult to hit. When used as tackle ships, they do not have the same speed or range as a true Interceptor and so their tackle tends to be more death-or-glory, all-or-nothing; but their durability can shine through and they can hold their target tackled for an irritatingly long time. When used alternatively as defensive anti-support ships, or as mainline damage ships, their durability takes a backseat and their high potential damage shines, and allows them to either quickly destroy small targets or punch up with surprising force.
To aid their evasion, Assault Frigates suffer less from the signature penalties of microwarpdrives. To aid their survival, Assault Frigate benefit from full strength (75%/50%) T2 Resists, and can use the Assault Damage Control module, an alternative to the regular Damage Control which provides lower passive resistances but can be activated once every 2.5 minutes to provide around 12-14 seconds of near-invulnerability.
Assault Frigates are most commonly used in PvP, however in PvE contexts, assault frigates can quickly take on missions and combat sites which would normally be far too difficult for a frigate-sized ship.
Is A frigate stronger than a destroyer?
In simple terms, a frigate is smaller, lighter in weight and less armed than a Destroyer, which is larger, heavier and armed with a variety of ammunition. Secondly, a frigate is more common than a destroyer, with almost every navy in the world possessing frigates while only 13 countries have Destroyers, per Global Fire Power Index 2019.
Before delving into the differences between frigates and destroyers, let’s look at their history in brief.
Shedding light on the history of Frigate. In the beginning, Frigate was a term used for ships that were long, low and fast. So, vessels possessing these traits were called frigate-built. During the Age of Sail, a frigate was a full-rigged vessel with a single gun deck with a gun limit based on nationality.

This ship is primarily intended for deep space mining support. It has a maintenance bay, corporate hangar, a huge mining hold, and the ability to fit bonused mining leadership links. The Rorqual can fit capital tractor beams and clone vat bays. In addition, the Rorqual has a jump drive and the ability to compress ore. The Rorqual does have a 50%/level range bonus to capital shield transfers and a 20%/level drone damage bonus, so while it’s not intended as a PVP ship, some people have been known to use it for that. The Rorqual has a non-capital little sister, the Orca, that can be seen supporting many highsec mining fleets.
What is a Stratios good for in Eve?
The main benefit of the Stratios, other than its cruiser-sized cargo hold is its ability to field a tank just strong enough to survive the explosion of a ghost site container (and to survive the subsequent onslaught of faction cruisers). This substantially lowers the risks involved in running ghost sites.
The best place to fly such a ship would be deep within one’s own nullsec alliance’s territory.Even though Highsec is being called “safe”, the truly safe areas in New Eden are actually those deep within a nullsec alliance’s territory. Not only do those areas yield great benefits due to their low security status, but they also provide much more safety than a +1.0 highsec system, assuming one pays attention to the appropriate intel channel(s) and the local channel (in nullsec, neutral=hostile, remember?)
There one can explore to his heart’s content without worrying about getting ganked too much.As for the loot, nullsec alliances usually take care of getting your loot to a trade hub. You give a contract and then a member with a jump-capable industrial hauls all the loot of you and other members to Jita, where you can sell it using a jump clone.

What is the most expensive ship destroyed in Eve?
The estimated total of damages in $USD is based on how much in-game currency (called PLEX) it would cost to replace each ship. Much of the ships however are the result of thousands of man-hours grinding for resources. The most expensive ship destroyed during the battle, Grencia Mars’ Vanquisher cost an estimated $5,500 equivalent in $USD.
Despite the digital bloodshed, the Massacre at M2-XFE is just one battle amidst EVE Online’s ongoing “World War Bee 2,” the game’s third universe-spanning war. Upwards of 130,000 players are still duking it out for in-game territory.
Funny enough, while M2-XFE is certainly the most costly battle in EVE history, this is technically only the third-largest battle in terms of player count. EVE’s Battle of FWST-8 clocked in at 6,557 players. The previous record for most costly battle in USD was held by the Battle of B-R5RB, which cost players an estimated $302,000.
