📹 DEPORTED: Why Africans Get Deported from Hong Kong China
Why Africans get deported from Hong Kong China #hongkong #china #africa #africanstyles → Join me for daily real time updates …
All us Africans who blame the colonizers for our problems 60years after Independence,REMEMBER, Hong Kong was a British colony until 1997!!! I truly believe that we West African should have remained under the British until the systems of running an efficient country became a habit for us .Currently we do not know how to run a country . In 2023 majority of Africans outside the capital cities have no roads, no electricity and no running water !
What I have learnt is that it’s not just an African passport thing, but also a black thing, especially in Asia. I have an Australian passport and everytime I land anywhere in Asia, they look at me with a magnifying glass. I remember being in a departure queue at the boarding gate in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – emphasis on departure – where they were checking passports at boarding. 50+ white Australians passed by the officer with no issues. As soon I gave my passport, he looked at me and then looked at the passport again and asked me, “how did you manage to get an Australian passport?” I was pulled to the side and interrogated. I am GIVING you a passport that affords me visa free travel and you’re questioning my existence. It’s almost like he was suggesting my passport was fake or that maybe I had acquired it by shoddy means. Africans, let’s make our continent what it can be. We are not going to go around the world justifying our reason for being anywhere. We are not going to beg. It’s a new Africa and we are telling our own story.
The key points u have shared are basic mandatory for travel anywhere, you don’t need a specific amount in your bank account as long as what u have is sufficient estimate to cover your travel/stay, you also don’t need to carry old/expired passports unless they are stuck together with your new passport otherwise they can see in the system where u have been to. Thanks u and enjoy your travels
Yes, with many western passports you don’t get problems at immigration in Hong Kong, but ok I’m a Jamaican travelling on a Swedish passport, no problem for me but feel sorry for many decent Africans who are refused entry for the most part. It’s true that appearance is one of the things that they look at as well as your accommodation and if your finances for your stay. Things have changed dramatically in many countries post pandemic, so the frequent traveller has to keep up to date with the latest entry requirements of all countries. Happy that you made it out of Hong Kong, but learning experiences will make you stronger.
The rule of thumb on this one sister is to develop our continent with infrastructure a little more to accommodate more of our people. After such is done we’ll be more comfortabe living on our continent hence, reducing deportations. We used to have the same problem in Jamaica which, has began to change.
Oh no sorry to hear that just now Tunisia they discriminate against black African brothers and sisters you come from a beautiful country Kenya soon I’m looking to come and live there for good Kenya is way better than Hong Kong soon they will suffer under the Chinese because Africa is kicking them out love you sister ❤️😘🇯🇲
Some of our people cause all this problems. Back in the year 2000 – 2005, it was very nasty how most West Africans were lying and trading passport. It was the reason Ghana passport holders were reduced from the usual 90 days of stay to 30 day’s then again to 15 day’s. During those day’s,even as a tourist,it was easy to get china visa through agents in HK and travel with train into shenzen and other part of China. Thank-you for the current update, it will be helpful to those with intentions to visit HK. Safe travels🙏
My cousin has lived in china for a long time, he went to college in Kenya. I am not blaming the Chinese for being tough on immigration, we have had significant nos of Africans who have committed crimes in china. The Ugandan government officials traveled to china to find out why Ugandans were in Chinese prisons. It turned out Nigerians had bought Ugandan passports.,but they have still caught Ugandans. What is appealing is African governments including Nigeria are still scared to put Chinese to death who have killed Africans.
I used to travel via Hong Kong from South Africa on my way to China…being an African I was always stopped, searched and scanned longer than others. It was so uncomfortable sometimes. As long as you are an African you are already regarded as a suspect in these places unfortunately. I remember in Changsha, there I was put in a certain room, searched and scanned, asked a lot questions. I wished my continent was developed and respected, unfortunately the idiots at the helm are busy stealing and sleeping at the top. Hong Kong is beautiful, China is beautiful, once I entered I enjoyed my stay in both places.
This article reminds me of when I used to travel to Jamaica with my family several times a year. The children loved it. Especially, chasing the baby animal and waking up early to go out with their grandfather to feed the animals. They are all professionals now and give back to Jamaica in many ways. Bless up to you and your family.
Some of these are the same requirements for visiting Kenya too as a tourist from the US as per the Embassy website. *U.S. passport with 6 months’ validity and at least 1 blank page. *A basic travel itinerary *A return ticket or proof of onward travel I thank God I never have to get a Tourist visa, just an invitation letter from family.
Sister, I think you are making excuses for Hong Kong (China). I’ve traveled the world even to Mainland China and during my visit there, I did not have check to my bank account and present it to them. Now I will agree with you that you should be able to present a return ticket and have an hotel. But having an itinerary; no that is a bit much. When I traveled to Brasil, (many times) not once did I ever have present proof of funds or an itinerary. Same holds true for Vietnam, Ukraine, Turkey, El Salvador, Mexico, Canada, Belize. They are just concerned about the possibility of a growing black African population.
You’re right sometimes people face deportation due to their countries of origin. In my personal experience of traveling to Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore and sometimes wait for my friends before they finally allowed them in. In my case I presented my European card and my friend present Nigeria passport and was detained for some time before allowing him in but why, we all boarded same flight from Zurich for holiday.
This is NORMAL for all counties sis. So some counties pay more attention but even in Jamaica that relies on tourism you must have an address and a return to ket to enter Jamaica. That’s normal. Don’t know why I complaining Abt Hong Kong. . Remember too that u have a skin color problem so always take that on consideration when travelling. That means u will go through more scrutiny than another person from the IS for example.
Do y’all know that the process to obtain a Kenya visa for Chinese citizens is simple, easy, and takes less than one hour from start to finish, When the Chinese arrive at the Kenyan airport after giving them a visa, they are not asked any questions at the Kenyan airport, they are greeted with a red carpet, The Chinese diaspora in Kenya is relatively small, estimated between 20,000-36,000 individuals.
maybe these are always happened for people coming from africa. I am from philippines and been to hong kong several times. I did not experience the intense questioning of hong kong immigration officer. The usual question is ” how many days you will stay in hong kong? and why are you traveling alone?”. Most of the time hong kong immigration officer will just take my passport and give small paper as visa.
Miss… U r Genuine Traveller…no problem… But teach ur African peoples to behave lawfully in other country…countries outside Africa work in law and order, Africans should not involve in illegal activities of our country security or local illegal activity… Already we have own problems and doesnt want such people here…. Always don’t play victim card and blame Colonial Era story because Whole World was been through this Colonisation… And after the visit is done…Africans must go back to Africa…. We give funds, for Hospital Buildings, Infrastructure, Food, Medicine, Schools and give lots of Scholarships to Study and Work in our countries…but these people come here and trouble us… So thts why people have different views about them…
Great info for those who are planning a trip to Hongkong, but personally speaking, I think it`s irresponsible and careless for anyone to go into a foreign country without enough finances or accommodation plans. Presentable……………. please don`t make me laugh, I look like a serious mess when I travel. Personally, there is no way I will visit any country without enough finances, or hotel booking and a return ticket. Having said that I think that`s why people get denied entry into some countries, not plan, no finances, and all that. Brilliant info
No doesn’t want your moving like rude or it’s upon your personality and your attire the want your Simple moving maybe there rude the scared if you are wearing like some bracelets or race bound on your hand like Marwa before the police immigration he deported him upon arrival because the scared to him especially that’s the first time that the show African people in HK . Hong Kong is very strick I work there as na nannies for 13 years before I move to Toronto canada 🇨🇦
I have been questioned by officers in Beijing, after been there for two months on a teaching assignment at the China Agriculture University and i had to go to Italy to a meeting. On my way back i was stopped and asked a lot of questions even though I had all my papers including a visa. I could not take such insult lightly, I told the officers that I did not ever though of coming to Beijing in my life and the only reason i was there was because CAU needed an expert in my field to teach their students! I was ready to leave right away! We need to know that China (including Hong Kong) have some issues with Africans and it is pure racism!
Thank you for this wonderful information 🙏.. please i would like to ask a question or two…. #1 do i need a initary visa before coming into hongkong as a visa free passport holder into hongkong. Im from cape verde and its a visa free country into hongkong. #2. Are there jobs opportunities in hongkong?
Bottom line. Don’t go for tourism where you are not wanted or where you are treated unfairly. Ask yourself do they treat people from other continents the same way? As a tourist you are going to spend your hard earned money so go where you are appreciated and welcomed. There are plenty of countries in the world to travel to. My rule is if a country treats someone of my race badly(tourist or immigrant) there is a good chance they will do the same to me even though I am a middle class American of African descent.
I know it is very upsetting but the truth is HK is the most discriminative place towards people who have darker skin. All the hardware looks very developed, but people in HK still have very stereotypes of non-Chinese. Also, one of the populist newspapers always stigmatises African asylum seekers. Therefore, the immigration officers are quite hostile or give hard time African enter HK.
Avoid Hongkong at all cost if you are travelling with a Nigerian passport, just got mine rejected despite clearly proving i’m travelling as a tourist alongside an American spouse who wanted to see the temples (i have never considered hongkong a place worth visiting despite 13 years of travelling in Asia), i also provided more than enough evidence that i am not staying in their county. Flight and hotel bookings all totally wasted, this people dont want us and its time we move accordingly.
I don’t see anything wrong with that, because they do worse the western country, as well to tell one thing even in Africa they should do controlled more when the western come to Africa /as Eritrea did they need to know the reason why you come to them country, so maybe you didn’t travel in other big countries western they well do 100times controllo so i say they did good controllo try not to see because you are Africa isn’t ok they did to all more even to western so let be learned that Africa should be more controlled when they come other naturally to them country ok.
