The Barcelona Cruise Port is located at the foot of La Rambla, Barcelona’s most famous Boulevard. To reach the terminal, take Line 9 and transfer to Line 3 at Zona Universitaria station. Taxis and buses are available at each terminal, with a fixed tariff (tariff T4) for taxis from the cruise port to the airport. The port is divided into two cruise piers, with passengers from smaller ships stopping at the WTC Barcelona Cruise Terminal.
The Barcelona Cruise Port is the largest in Europe, handling close to 3 million cruise passengers each year. The city’s main railway hub, Barcelona Sants, connects Barcelona to various Spanish cities and international destinations like Paris and Zurich. Private transfers start at £20 per vehicle for a single journey.
Taxis are available at the terminal building, and staff liaise with local taxis to ensure there are enough taxis waiting when a ship docks. Most Barcelona taxis have a license to carry a maximum of four passengers, and the fare is based on the cab rather than per person. Some Barcelonan taxis also offer assistance with luggage and booking taxis.
There are taxi stops in all Barcelona cruise ship terminals, but there are often long lines to catch one. Taxis can be booked in advance or by phone, and there are various options for transfers including individual, group, minivan, minibus, and bus transfers. At the exit of your ship, you will see a taxi stop with yellow and black taxis, as well as port staff to help with luggage.
A taxi rank next to the harbor allows you to tell your driver where you want to go, with any destination in the city.
