Are There Blow Dryers On Norwegian Cruise Ships?

Norwegian Cruises Lines (NCL) does not explicitly state whether a hair dryer can be brought on board, but passengers have reported taking their own. However, it was common for them to blow fuses in the rooms. All staterooms feature a TV, safe, hair dryer, bath products, and mini-bar, which are pay-per-consumption. Room service is available from 5 am to midnight (subject to convenience charge), and all stateroom-to-stateroom calls are free.

The hair dryers on Norwegian cruise ships are typically compact and powerful enough to meet styling needs. Most cruise lines have hair dryers available, with most already in the cabins. Flat irons and curling irons are allowed, as hair care appliances are the only appliances that produce heat. Some cabins have a hair dryer, but guests should always bring their own curling and straightening irons.

All cruise lines provide towels for pool and beach use, but personal grooming devices such as hair dryers, hair flat irons, curling irons, and shavers are allowed on board when used with proper caution. For European appliances, a converter is needed (U.S. norm). Hairdryers are provided in all staterooms Suites, and irons and ironing boards can be requested through the ship.

No illegal drugs or other illegal substances are allowed on Norwegian cruise ships. If you plan to cruise on the NCL Epic in the Mediterranean, it is important to check if the rooms have 120 outlets and hair dryers.

Do I need to bring a blow dryer on a cruise?

This may be the item that takes up the most room in a suitcase. It is awkwardly shaped and not used a lot either, so leave it at home.

You’ll find a hairdryer built into the powder station drawer in your stateroom. And I’m happy to report that each hairdryer I’ve used onboard has been heavy duty and just as great as mine at home. Don’t worry about your hair, you will still look fabulous!

I always have the urge to bringalong a computer, in case I get the urge to write while I’m sailing. However, having a computer completely defeats the point of being on vacation! Instead, I bring along a small notebook to jot down notes during the week. There are wi-fi capabilities onboard (for a fee) and if you need your online ‘fix’, stop by the Internet Cafeto check in with your friends at home.

While we don’t typically use our stroller while we are on the ship, we have found it helpful to have anumbrella stroller on the days we are in port. There’s no need to bring one from home though, you can rent strollers on the ship at the kids camp.

Are there hair dryers in cruise cabins?

Ships all come equipped with hair dryers. They may be wall-mounted in the bathroom, or in a closet or vanity drawer. We’ve even been on one ship that had both a wimpy wall-mounted dryer and a more powerful one stashed in a drawer.

3. Clothesline. Most ships have a retractable clothesline located in the bathroom. While it may be tempting to toss your swim suit over a balcony chair to dry don’t. It’s a good way to lose a suit to a gust of wind, and it’s also against most cruise lines’ rules.

Can I bring a curling iron on a Norwegian cruise?

The shampoo and conditioner that are supplied by Norwegian Cruise Line are mounted to the wall inside the shower and are restocked by your cabin steward. This ensures that guests will have plenty for the duration of their cruise.

Is bottled water free on Norwegian cruise?

One of the oddities of the FAS beverage package is that it does not include any bottled water, even if you ask for it by the glass at a bar. I normally drink a lot of Pellegrino at home and it is strange that NCL charges extra for a mineral water that is obviously much cheaper than a $15 cocktail.

Do Norwegian Cruise Line Have a Self-Serve Laundry?. Norwegian Cruise Line provides laundry services for a charge, which can be purchased onboard or pre-purchased prior to the cruise. Norwegian Cruise Line does not have self-serve laundries on any of its cruise ships.
