Are The Pools Open On An Alaskan Cruise?

The indoor pool on Alaskan cruise ships is typically adults-only, but for cold weather cruises, it is open to families from 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm each day. During warmer days, many people fully enjoy the pools, while even on colder days, they can use them. Most Alaska cruises are 7 days in length and are roundtrip sailings departing from Seattle, Washington or Vancouver, British Columbia.

For those brave enough to brave the elements, there are two pools and four hot tubs on the main pool deck, making it easy to get a deck chair. Cruise lines typically offer fundamental amenities like pools, hot tubs, and dining choices. It is important to pack your swimsuit and appropriate attire for formal events.

Preparing for an Alaskan cruise is different than any other vacation, and some ships have covered the indoor pool. Most cruise ships have a pool in an atrium with a retractable roof, which is usually closed in cooler temperatures. Even on Alaskan cruises, swimming is an option, as the pools are heated when the outside temperature drops below 75 degrees Fahrenheit.

The only indoor pool on the ship is in the Haven area, and all pools and hot tubs will be open during Alaska sailings. However, the availability of the pools depends on the weather, as early June can be chilly and rainy.
