Ann Walton, an heir to Walmart’s fortune, is the owner of the remarkable yacht Aquila. The yacht, originally known as Cakewalk, was built by Feadship and was sold in an in-house deal to an experienced yacht owner. The yacht accommodates 14 guests in six staterooms and underwent an extensive refit at British shipyard Pendennis. The result was a beauty-of-a-yacht, re-christened Aquila.
Aquila is the third largest luxury yacht sold by Burgess this year, following the sale of the iconic 90m NERO in May and the 86m Feadship ECSTASEA. Built by Derecktor, she cruised under the name Cakewalk before being sold and completely refitted. In 2016, Pendennis was contracted to undertake the exterior styling with RWD and Susan Young creating Aquila.
Originally built as Cakewalk for Charles Gallagher, the owner of Denver-based Gallagher Industries, Aquila is an 86.5m superyacht made by Derecktor Shipyards. At that size, she is the largest yacht at that size. AQUILA is an 86m luxury motor mega yacht available for charter, built in 2010, and refitted in 2021. It can charter up to 12 guests in 8 cabins (1 Master, 4 VIP, 5 Double 3 Twin) with a crew of 28.
For Burgess, communication between both parties is key, as James Clark, broker and owner of the yacht, says that communication between both parties is key. At 281 feet, Cakewalk is the longest yacht built.
