  • I think this is slightly higher than their actual income. 1% of viewers are not going to purchase goods every single day from their online store. I’d say maybe 1% weekly may purchase goods from the store. At the end of the year that would mean 50% of total viewers purchased goods, which may still be on the high side.

  • Computing expenses as a percentage of income is wrong, especially when income is so optimistically calculated. I hope they are doing this well but I think income is quite a bit overstated. However, part of their appeal is to at least appear as though they are operating on a shoe string budget with lot’s of jerry-rigging and ingenuity to make it. I think this played into their decision to keep the current boat…even though the potential upgrade was not really much better or very expensive. If they become a “financially comfortable” sailing website with no drama around the boat held together with bubble gum, they might not be as interesting.

  • There’s alot of this going on right now based purely on conjecture. Who really gives a toss who’s earning what, how and when. If the articles are of interest then watch and give up wondering how much is being made. The world is obsessed with money. What happened to fun and entertainment? Also guessing you don’t have a boat as running costs are never included or the unexpected huge bill when things go wrong. Just sit back, chill out, watch and enjoy or go count your money and butt out!

  • I think this is a bit high. But, I hope they make enough to buy a new boat soon. Yeah, it might hurt their website a little, but I think they are entertaining enough to make it work. Besides, I hope they are investing enough that someday they can not worry about whether or not they are making enough on YouTube.

  • One thing I know their estimates are off on (and they kind of admit this) is their taxes. I almost 99% sure Matt and Kristen’s home base is Florida which has no income tax. Although a lot of you want to believe this is high, I would bet it’s pretty close. It’s about an average middle class income for two educated adults. Not that big of a deal. Thing is knowing them (I’ve watched them for years) they’re frugal and stashing it away.
