Neptunus Yachts, a Canadian manufacturer of luxury motoryachts, has been quietly creating yachts for over 30 years. The company, located in St. Catherines on the southern shore of Lake Ontario, has launched more than 180 models to date. Neptunus is Canada’s leading manufacturer of luxury motoryachts, with models ranging from 55 to 75 feet. The company draws its roots from a deep Dutch shipbuilding heritage and has been building quality yachts in the same shipyard for over thirty years.
The Neptunus 65 is a semi-custom mini-megayacht with the imposing profile of a larger, tri-deck motor yacht. The hull was developed by Tony, and all Neptunus models sold in the United States have been built in this Canadian plant. Neptunus Yachts has roots deeply rooted in the Dutch shipbuilding tradition, having been founded over 40 years ago as a yard in Holland. The Neptunus shipyard is a 72,000 square foot facility on 7 acres, located in St. Catharines Ontario.
Neptunus Yachts has built more than 175 semi-custom motor yachts that are stylish and sporty. Last August, Neptunus Yachts was invited to run and review their latest yacht, a 202650E at their marina. The Neptunus shipyard at St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada, sits on a seven-acre facility on the Welland Canal at Lake Ontario.
Neptunus Yachts is at the Toronto International Boat Show, held at the Enercare Center, Exhibition Place, Toronto. They look forward to meeting with customers and showcasing their latest products.

The owner of this boat was a visionary. So many one of a kind practical design features that even today has you saying “wow, that’s cool!” I can see a very happy owner in the future of this yacht/home. I loved the engine room too!!! The owner was wise to select you to take us on this tour. Every time I hear, “I really like this,” I know the feature is going to be a candidate for many viewer’s NBBL’s.
I love this boat, my wife loves Victoria’s dress! I could see myself living on and operating this one. You were right saying Awesome so many times, and a few uniques as well. We live near lake Erie and that would be perfect for an on water condo and not a bad fishing boat either. Thanks for another fantastic tour!
Just from what I saw if that boat is anything under $300,000 it’s a steal it is so well maintained yes it’s 30 years old but it was maintained like a antique classic Ferrari with somebody only rubbed it with a clean diaper to keep it shiny all the time it is a beautiful yacht if you really did like the late ’80s and ’90s styling you would fall in love with it and it’s very usable in the 21st century and I hope whoever does buy it takes equal care and loving to it
Certainly a very different layout but a great vessel for entertaining guests in that beautiful saloon. I think I am most impressed with the docking skills of the captain, she’s a tight fit with that long bowsprit (oops) – bow pulpit! 😉 Victoria, you must have cast iron feet, it’s 96 degrees and you can walk on that chrome bow pulpit…amazing!
Give them props. They are correct about filming outside when you can in south Florida because summer showers can come and go from one minute to the next. Also, I feel sorry for them and they should be commended- most people assume rain cools things down, but down here in south Florida, most of the time it just makes things more miserable because the humidity makes it feel even hotter and this year it’s been brutal (at least it looks like paradise on camera, lol). I love you guys! Fearless in all weather.
Neptunus, since 1989 are built in St. Catherines, ON, Canada. ( near Toronto) They are still being built here. The quality as you can see is outstanding. A new boat of this size is over $2 million. ( see the new Neptunus 650F ) I’m surprised you didn’t mention that magnificent flooring. Interesting to see how Modern designs have evolved for more flow of spaces. Cheers from Toronto
These are awesome articles. It reminds me of the time I used to work at a custom super yacht builder as a lead fibreglasser and also specialty high temp mufflers and exhausts.,Thank you . FYI on one the episode with” Sunreef 60′ Sail Catamaran ” you were trying to gauge the length of the galley island,.You can use you arm span tip to tip as the same as from head to toe they are both equal. For you your height is 5’7″
New to boating – beyond the $229,000, in South Florida, how much should I expect to pay for monthly mooring charges at a location that’s OK for a live-aboard situation? Also, for a boat in this price range, how much should I expect to pay for annual maintenance, assuming a 50/50 mix of cruising and moored as a live-aboard? Thanks!
I know this article was made over a year ago. But perusal y’all talk about the rain and how you Dodge it or try to work around it filming is hilarious to me. Because I remember doing the same thing with doing lawn care on Skidaway Is. up here in Savannah. And just how miserable it gets when it rains during the day in the summer. Then it stops & the clouds move to allow full sun on everything that just got soaked. It then becomes an instant Sauna. Just perusal everything start steaming along with yourself immediately. 😂😢😂 I say just ditch the dining table and add a couple more poles on the pole stage. Maybe a few slot machines around the outer edge. A craps table in the middle. International waters here we come!🤣🤣🤣
Rico: The next time you see two keys, hit the bilge pump and turn the key(s) to the right. Bargain price, very high quality build, superior design. great helms, and modern Euro quality when your dollar bought something. $ 2 2 9, 0 0 0 ! You would never find anything like this in Canada for less than 1 Mil. The only area that showed it’s age on the entire yacht was the work room / crew quarter. Just another great live-aboard possibility, artfully filmed, edited and displayed by the most famous, perfect yachting couple on the east coast. AKA NautiStyles Hug from Mike.
A motor boat, the Sinatra ‘Tony Rome’ film, crash pad, needing 1,100 gallons marine diesel @ Floridian $6/gallon for 350 to 500 nautical miles max… hmmm versus a catamaran, wind, sail renewal perhaps every 10 years max with luck… and space and stability of double hull, less marina fees due to less time in marinas… less draft for accessing more inaccessible island paradises 👀🤣🎈❤️☝🏻 Loved the tour, and that hint of European accent, I’m a Brit, your speaking voice is very 🔥 Now, If this ran on C24th century power systems and propulsion, mini na’cell warp engines 👀😜
Gee, I just joined the website with great enthusiasm for your wide range of yachts with quirky, yet informative reviews. I’m wondering if anyone has gotten beyond the condition (excellent) of a 90’s vessel and asked themselves why are there so many sharp edges and odd placements in the interior of a vessel of any size or origin? I’m interested in seeing another yacht from the same manufacturer for comparison. Perhaps this boat is an example of what one can do with a blank slate and some carpentry tools. Good work as usual.
First time commenting, just found this website the other day. Love it, seen a ton of your articles and impressed with your knowledge and a great way to present these great machines. I am curious, especially for something like this which seems attainable for someone like me, is there a place I can go and get an idea of maintenance costs? I’ve heard somewhere that its not the elephant that we need to worry about purchasing, its the hay. Thanks again! -Jamie
Unique is definitely how I would describe this boat as well. It is totally the 90’s too. There is another yacht sales website that I watch, he doesn’t post a lot and he has this uber NY attitude, and this is a boat he would sell I think. This is a neat boat to take to the Bahamas. The Detroit Disels scare me, but I heard they can last a long time.
We are getting ready to pull the trigger on moving onto a yacht within the next few months or so, I really hope this one is still for sale then. It is topping our short list of candidates. Thank you guys for making these tour articles, this one really helped me sell my wife on this older yacht…I think she is ‘on board’ now with a well maintained one like this.
This is quite a boat for $229,000. It’s in “Bristol Condition” at least visually. It’s been impeccably maintained. Even the engineering space looks really nice. Even the bilges are clean. If you like or can come to like the 90s era Eurostyle design, it’s a very cool boat. It was well designed. I am sure that the marine survey will come out just fine. Somebody is going to get a great boat for a great price.
Victoria your absolute right it’s a Neptunus 168 Building in Aalst (Gelderland) Netherlands. The delivery to the customer was always on the harbour of Sleeuwijk. The most common 168 was with the Volvo Penta, the best with the caterpillars, the worst with the MAN engine skip these. Exceptional engineering was the Detroit diesel, what’s a excellent choice for the USA. A lot of the 168 series exporter new to Canada, Miami Long Beach. The shipyard is now building the Elling yachts, the most safety yacht on the market.
I’ve subbed to your website mostly for content like this, since I’m beginning my search for a motor yacht. The problem for me with yachts above $150k or so, when they’re more than a few years old, is that it becomes harder to finance them using the boat itself as collateral. $150k is about the limit of the credit I have available from other sources while leaving enough cushion for any work or upgrades needed. Do you have any suggestions about financing? 4:00 – And yes, they’re fools. A bowsprit is a spar. Does this look like a sailboat to anyone?
All right with the engines there’s a little rule of thumb with them before you start them I always pop the valve covers off there should be two knobs on top to do that so it’ll be easy and run your fuel rack back and forth to make sure it’s free on each one before you start them up Detroit’s have a bad habit of having their fuel racks lock up in the wide open position and causing a runaway so by doing that you know you’re not going to get a runaway when you Crank it up that’s what’s all Detroit diesels
Sincerely desire this vessel as I am a native born Floridian and am returning back home and would rather live on the water as I have family all along the coast of GOM. Please I would like very much to write a short letter of introduction and throw my hat into the ring, as I feel this vessel may not last long as its condition is so top shelf! Can you send me an Email for the owner?
Not sure what it is, but I have seen 40 footers with more inside space. Truly a strange layout. Nearly 70 feet and you can only host a total of 6 persons?!?!? And the cabins are tiny, which would be fine, if that translated into more of them or more salon space, but it just seems the space gets swallowed up by another dimension. You know the footprint should have a lot of space, but when you are in it, it all disappears. I could go on, but seriously, for only 250k, thats a great deal no matter how strange and small.
Just my general observations: Victoria breaks out the fancy measuring device. Thought she was going to pull out a measuring tape and pull a Capt. Steve from BoatTest. Remember to wave your arms like you are a robot and trace the general shape in the air. I also say ‘awesome’ a lot, I’m sure you are aware. I think there is nothing wrong with that. It’s totally awesome. Towards the end, you called Rico your assistant. His title is co-star. You can’t convince me otherwise that those poles weren’t for ‘exotic dancers’. There was some partying going on there. Probably enough glitter there to make it look like a coked up Tinkerbell held a twerking marathon. This is the second boat you mentioned having a time out space. Does this mean your new Bering will feature a time out space as well? Will you still call it the anchor locker, or do we just start calling it Victoria’s time out space on every boat now? Since it was a wet head, is that why there was no mention of how many persons the shower would hold. No persons shower count is like a Yachts for Sale article without the word ‘sumptuous’ thrown in or an Aquaholic article without Nick waving to him self in the mirror or getting excited over Miele appliances.
Rico, about the bow… and what some call, it when you act out the titanic sceen…. see Rico, she’s missing the point so to speak. Try this, next time. When your out at sea on a weekend, cruise. You two go to your bow, ( night time ),.. Now, girls in front arms spread. U Rico behind her. ” now have her ” ( bow ), and spread… then give her the point…hahaha, a bow spread, How old are you guys.. cup of tea at 8, bed by 9.. Go do a bow spread….💃🌝
As it applies to interior design, I love wood and brass and loathe glass and chrome. This is one of a very few boats where I hate the salon and dining areas. I keep having to go back and look at the price. Frankly, I think add $50,000 for renovations, and it’s actually doable. Does anyone ever consider going somewhere like Central or South America or maybe Vietnam for renovating a yacht?
Is it possible to replace the dishwasher with an oven? So many of these yachts have dishwashers but no ovens. Dishwashers are genuinely unnecessary. You could wash the dishes for as many people as this ship could fit with just a tub of sanitizer water. Such a tiny kitchen doesn’t need a dishwasher. I don’t think I could personally live without an oven. Maybe if installing a proper oven is too complicated, I could just get a real nice air fryer oven.
The price of boats, motor homes, vehicles, motorcycles are all coming down very fast and there will be awesome deals by the late summer of 2024 when we hit recession very hard and it will be perfect time to buy a boat. The insurance on boats has mostly gone up 30%-40% in the last 18 months along with slip fees. Look out for deals over the next 2 years starting in spring 2024 as people shed these assets that they can no longer afford payments on along with the high cost of insurance.
I’m a big fan of how ‘odd’ the design is personally, but I think one part of it that’s pretty hard to argue for is the salon, it’s hot garbage honestly, and doesn’t seem to take advantage of the available space. Fortunately that’s probably the single most easily reworked area on the boat so it’s not a huge problem
First off, I love your articles, however I do wish there were a little more time and space given to a contact number for the brokers that are handling the yacht if it is indeed for sale, you know just a telephone and contact number would be awesome. I am about to retire and then search for my new “mobile” home.
I would definetely have already bought it its spacious….it had a full fridge and washing machine…. it s like home…. and why not wake up everyday and see the sea instead of buildings… What makes me dont want to is the cost of parking it…. i believe there should be more solutions on that… for example for me….to own that and decide to live in there does not mean im rich… i might have invest on that in replace to a house… all people should have the right to choose that and not worry paying thousands every year…. yeah its ok to pay for facilities like water or electricity….but also rent at such high prices??? And this one cause it has bigger length it will be more than 10.000 per year to park it…. such a shame…. now you will tell me what if like 5 million people decide the same if there were no rents like that…. i dont care they should make more marines….like they construct and sell houses…. or sell parking parking positions like they sell homes…. but they dont care!!! Recently i read an article on yachting here in Greece which is a country i think on top 5 in yachting worldwide to find out that ministry of navy does not care even about the conditions of existed marines…or even to give the chance for bigger yachts to approach Greece cause they have to pay so much money…. for example a very big and luxurious yacht can pay until 400.000 euro per month to park it and what is happening is that the same yacht can park on other countries e.x spain italy for half price.
