Bathtub Beach is a popular spot for local and visiting residents due to its unique combination of a beautiful beach, nearshore reef, and Indian River. The soft sands make it an ideal spot for children and adults to frolic freely from the waves. Bathtub Reef Beach is also a popular spot for sunning and swimming, with soft sands making it perfect for early morning and evening promenades. Scuba diving is available offshore in the shallow waters, making it a great spot for snorkeling during low tide.
The reef system located just offshore is home to over 500 marine creatures, including endangered sea turtles. It is perfect for small children as the rocks break waves and create a pool of shallow water. For adults, the shallow waters are calm, and kids can walk up to the reef to see a dazzling assortment of fish. The parking lot is small, so get there early.
Bathtub Reef Beach is located at the entrance of Sailfish Point, a gated community on Hutchinson Island. From an ease-of-access point of view, parking at The Rocks (1 beach N of Bathtub) is the best bet. The coral reef right offshore is amazing for snorkeling and scuba diving. Bathtub Reef Beach is an idyllic spot for spending days in Martin County, with a webcam available to check out. Participants will be led on a snorkel in the beautiful, turquoise waters of Bathtub Reef Beach and the adjacent lagoon.

Was just a 2 ln road with mangroves on each side. I loved catching ( and always releasing) the sea urchin and cucumbers. I returned home for a few days in June this year. It’s still so very beautiful here.
