Before kiteboarding on the North Shore of Maui, it is important to know the rules: no kiteboarding before 11AM. There are five best kiteboarding beaches in Maui: Kite Beach, Teach Beach (Kanaha Beach Park), Kaa Point aka Pro Pool, Flash Beach Naish Beach, Sugar Cove, Kite Beach Maui aka Teach Beach, Kaa Point aka Pro Beach, Flash Beach Lanes Hookipa BALDWIN, and Kite Beach Teach Beach (Kanaha Beach Park).
The most common and safe place to kiteboard in Maui is Kanaha Beach Park, located on the north shore of Maui. The town of Kihei provides the next largest spot in terms of kitesurfer population on Maui. There are two primary launches: Waipuliani Park and Sugar Cove.
Kite Beach, the main hub of kiteboarding action, is located just a few minutes from the Kahului Airpot. Renting a vehicle is necessary when visiting these spots. The western end of Kanaha Beach Park, known locally as Kite Beach, is located on Maui’s north shore.
