When Will I Receive My Princess Cruise Medallion?

The Ocean Medallion is a complimentary wearable device provided by Princess Cruises for all U.S. guests, either in the mail before leaving home or upon arrival at the terminal. International guests can pick up their medallion at the port. To complete your travel checklist, follow the steps on the Princess® app and show your OceanReady QR code on your mobile device to enjoy easy boarding.

The timing of your booking can affect medallion delivery. If you reserve your cruise well in advance, you are more likely to receive your medallion in the mail. To receive your medallion, go to the OceanReady section of the Princess® MedallionClass® app and complete or confirm your shipping information at least 13 days before your cruise. Gold members (those who have cruised once before) will get a gold Medallion, Ruby members (those with three cruises or 30 days of sailing) will have a ruby Medallion, and Platinum members.

All U.S. guests receive their free Medallion device either in the mail before leaving home or upon arrival at the terminal. International guests can pick up their Medallion device. The new service level for Medallions is that they are received about 11 days before the sail date. Medallions have a battery in them, so Princess cannot ship them too early or the battery will die. Look for your Medallion about two weeks before sailing.

From November 2017, guests can continue using the existing MedallionClass® app on their upcoming cruise until February 1, 2024. When ready to switch to the new service level, the Medallion will be shipped free of charge to the address saved to their personal Ocean Ready profile.

Do I have to use the Princess Medallion app?

Topspot. The actual medallion has an RIF chip in it that opens the door. You’d need to use that, but you really don’t need to use the app. You do need to put all of your info in prior to boarding, it just makes things a little smoother at the port.

What if my Princess medallion hasn’t arrived?

Your Medallion will be shipped free of charge to the address saved to your personal Ocean Ready profile. If your Medallion doesn’t arrive prior to your sail date, please call Princess Cruises. For last minute bookings, you may need to pick up your Medallion at the terminal during check-in.

Do I need to print my boarding pass for cruise on a Medallion Class ship?

No, you only need your Medallion. If you forget your Medallion (or never received one), please see one of the crew members for assistance during boarding.

Can Princess Medallion be reused?

They are only reused on a b2b (same ship) and yes it does have your name, ship and sail date of the first cruise you’re on.

The batteries last about 30 days, varies according to when the battery as installed. We’ve done many b2b’s and just stop at GS if the battery is low. Replaced in just a few mins. No big deal.

What does a white Princess medallion mean?

But you right, that medallions with white backgrounds indicated that it was for the inaugural 1st year of a ship’s service.

IN November everyone was given a white one on the Discovery. We were told it was for the first year the ship was in service. (that would have been accurate for that cruise).

In April, on the Ruby – repositioning cruise from Galveston to San Francisco-, at the Captain’s Circle meeting, they mentioned that they white medallions are replacing the formerly Blue medallions.

I also heard that you can go to guest services and they would give you a sticker with the correct color.

How early can you board a Princess cruise ship?

Boarding begins around 10:30 or 11am. Believe your cruise probably sails at 3pm. The cruise line is required to submit a passenger manifest to the authorities 60 minutes before they sail. You must be checked in before that time.
