Oceania Cruises has announced its newest initiative, OceaniaNEXT, which includes a range of major refurbishments to enhance the guest experience. The first phase of this initiative is the $100 million refurbishment of the Oceania Cruises Regatta ship, which was drydock refurbished in 2019. This upgrade was part of the OceaniaNEXT refurbishment across four mid-sized ships and includes a new look and feel for all 342 staterooms and suites. The return of the Regatta marks the culmination of the most massive refurbishment in Oceania Cruises history, a 50 million makeover of their original trio of ships from bow.
The 1998-built (as R Two) Oceania Regatta cruise ship is the fleet’s second R-Class boat, with sisterships Nautica, Insignia, and Sirena (Ocean Princess). The Regatta was last refurbished in September 2019 as part of the OceaniaNEXT fleet renovation project (2019-2020). The ship has completed her reinspiration as of September 2019, while Nautica has completed her reinspiration as of April 2022.
The Oceania Regatta was built in 1998 and refurbished in 2011 and 2014 before undergoing a recent transformation to upgrade all cabins, lounges, and restaurants. The 684-guest vessel offers a traditional cruising experience with an upper premium cruise line. Oceania Cruises’ eighth ship, Allura, is set to launch in Spring 2025. The fully remodeled Oceania Regatta has returned to Australia for her summer season, offering new amenities and activities for guests.
