Royal Caribbean International is set to bring back its full fleet of ships by spring 2022, sailing from the Big Apple to the Down Under. The company’s restart plan accelerates worldwide, with the next group of returning ships and itineraries starting in September. The Royal Caribbean restart will continue on November 19, when Navigator of the Seas arrives in Los Angeles to set sail with West Coast cruise lovers on 3-, 4-, and 5-night cruises to unforgettable destinations.

By the end of August, 12 Royal Caribbean ships will be cruising across The Bahamas, Caribbean, Alaska, and Europe. Royal Caribbean plans to add a second ship in 2025 in a market it has not served since the Covid outbreak in 2020. The main channel out of the Port of Baltimore will be open by May 25, according to Royal Caribbean.

Travel documents required for Royal Caribbean cruises include an accepted form of identification. This impacts six cruises: Adventure of the Seas (March 15 sailing), Mariner of the Seas (March 16), Oasis of the Seas, and Symphony of the Seas. Royal Caribbean’s restart plan continues to offer the best cruise deals and packages to the Caribbean and the Bahamas.

Is it safe to go on cruises now?

1. Royal Caribbean International – Icon of the Seas: 248,663 gross tonnes. Weighing 248,663 gross tonnes and measuring 365 metres (1,1967feet), the Icon of the Seas is the largest cruise ship in the world. Christened on 23 January 2024, the Icon has a maximum capacity of 7,600 passengers and 2,350 crew across 20 decks. Is Labadee owned by Haiti?

Labadee (French: Labadie) is a private resort located on the northern coast of Haiti within the arrondissement of Cap-Haïtien in the Nord department. In 1985 the government of Haiti under the leadership of the dictator Jean-Claude “Baby Doc” Duvalier leased the area to Royal Caribbean Group, for the exclusive use of passengers of its three cruise lines: Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, and Azamara Club Cruises. The lease was later extended to 2050. The resort is completely tourist-oriented and is guarded by a private security force. The site is doubly fenced off from the surrounding area; passengers cannot leave the property and locals cannot enter. Food available to tourists is brought from the cruise ships. A controlled group of Haitian merchants are given sole rights to sell merchandise and establish their businesses in the resort. Although sometimes described as an island in advertisements, it is actually a peninsula contiguous with the island of Hispaniola. The cruise ship moors to the pier at Labadee are capable of servicing the Oasis class ships, which was completed in late 2009. The commercial airport that is closest to Labadee is Cap-Haïtien International Airport.

Attractions include a Haitian flea market, beaches, watersports, a water-oriented playground, an alpine coaster, and the largest zip-line over water.

The location is named after Marquis de La Badie, a Frenchman who first settled the area in the 17th century. The peninsula and a village were named Labadie. The cruise company spells the name “Labadee” to make it easier for American English-speakers to pronounce.

The Cheapest Months to Go on a Norwegian Fjords Cruise. The best time to cruise to Norway is in July or August. It is cheaper to sail in April, May, and September. This is out of the school summer holidays, so there are cheaper deals to be had.

Norwegian Fjords cruises do happen year-round although the choice of cruise lines is dramatically less outside of the summer season.

Winter “Northern Lights” itineraries that take place in the winter months are far more expensive than summer sailings.

Children are still at school, and the weather is usually colder and may be more unpredictable than during the peak season.

Alaska has a relatively short summer cruising season compared to other destinations.

Alaska is a place you visit for outstanding natural beauty – not to sit in the sun! If you want a cruise with guaranteed sunshine and warm weather, Alaska is probably not for you!

Where is Royal Caribbean going instead of Labadee, Haiti?

As noted in past updates from Royal Caribbean, the line is replacing Labadee visits with calls on its other private island, CocoCay, as well as Falmouth, Jamaica; Nassau, Bahamas; and sea days.
