Royal Caribbean has announced the debut of its new ship, Anthem of the Seas, into Australia. The Discovery Princess, a 145,000-tonne ship, will be the largest Princess Cruises ship to ever sail in Australia waters. The Crown Princess, the largest cruise ship ever to be based year-round in Australia, will offer itineraries that include Princess Cruises’ longest world cruise.
The 4905-guest Ovation of the Seas, launched in April, is the fourth largest cruise ship in the world and will be the newest, biggest, and most technologically advanced to ever sail in Australia. The Crown Princess will be the largest cruise ship to homeport year-round in Sydney when it debuts in October 2019. In 2022-23, up to 167,402 cruise passengers and 74,192 crew will visit South Australian ports and anchorages.
A season-high 104 ship Voyager will sail from Brisbane for the first time from December 2025, with 20 holidays to choose from and a new destination in the line-up. The Crown Princess will soon call Australia home at 113,561 tonnes and accommodate up to 3,080 guests.
The world’s largest cruise ship, Icon of the Seas, has officially docked at its year-round home in Florida ahead of its maiden voyage on January. The largest cruise ship to ever visit the state arrived at Outer Harbor today, with 4,354 passengers and 1,624 crew aboard the Royal Caribbean ship, Quantum of the Seas.
