What Does Hcb Yachts Stand For?

HCB Yachts, formerly known as Hydra-Sports Custom, has renamed itself Hydrasports Custom Boats to reflect a strategy focused on delivering luxury products and customer experience. The company is headquartered in Tennessee and tests its boats in Islamorada, Florida. HCB Yachts produces the world’s largest center console yacht with unmatched attention to detail, performance, and luxury. With unsurpassed horsepower and expansive capabilities, HCB takes the title of the world’s largest center console and creates a new category of yacht all its own.

The 65 Estrella, the largest center console, is not only the biggest in the world but also the most powerful. HCB Yachts, formerly Hydra-Sports Custom, began in the 1970s as a bass boat company in Tennessee. After being purchased and re-positioned in the 2000s by Elias De La Torre III, the company has evolved its culture over the past five years.

HCB Yachts offers the largest vessels offered by the brand, including the 53 foot Suenos and the massive 65 foot Estrella. The company’s name stands for Hybrid Center Console Boat Yachts, which are the largest vessels offered by the brand. The company aims to place more emphasis on fishability and refine yacht luxury, creating a new class of custom yachts that carefully splice the DNA of raw, offshore performance and refined yacht luxury.

  • Beautiful and well equipped chase boat, something you may want to consider, God forbid, if you have a sick crew member and he/she’s contagious (example would be strep throat, to avoid causing the entire crew to become sick), you do have a place they can go and sleep/rest until you can get them offloaded to a medical facility or air bnb/hotel to recover, on land! I’m a cautious veteran pediatric nurse who’s always thinking of likely possibilities in reality and solutions to avoid widespread illness (and maybe a little/a lot of PTSD thanks to Covid-19)!

  • Hi Loon Crew! I’m loving your content! I really appreciate Capt. Paul saying the spotlight is good for anchor and SAR. Which gave me an idea for a article- could you walk us through one of your emergency drills, or parts of your watch quarter station bill? Yachts are very fun, but the safety behind it all is paramount

  • I personally really like the Anvera 48. The explanation of the Tow Pro on the HCB was great, and Captain Paul was answering the questions about why you use 2 chase boats was done just as I was asking them in my head. Including why outboards vs inboard motors. The mechanisms to keep the boat steady and in place are awesome but how does the counter roll system work – thrusters or something else? Does using the 4 motors to “hover in place” while fishing burn much fuel?

  • Awesome boat! Those HCBs are incredible. Curious if you don’t need to back in to pick up guests in the Caribbean so much, like in the Med? Another thing that is very impressive in your articles is how positive and jovial the crew is even when things aren’t going according to plan. Really enjoy the articles and hope to join you on board one day. Cheers. 👍😀

  • That was a treat a @motoryachtloon weekend! The Saturday Live, @CaptPaulClarke demonstrated the patience of a saint, waiting to rouse the crew on the Samsara (edit), did you guys get the ‘apology beers’ btw? Then the reversing was like a masterclass (sorry to gush!). Can’t believe you’d put your anchor into the brand new HCB to set it, but I’d love to see that. And yesterday’s review of the HCB was thorough, as we’ve come to expect, and what a beast it is. @Blair_vb did a fine job, with Captain Paul, answering all our random questions… It is interesting that Loon can’t answer the differing needs of guests in the Caribbean and Mediterranean, with two different boats; boats that most of us can only aspire too, and Loon has 2! I hope you have a fantastic show, maybe somebody may now book a charter to Alaska, that would be amazing!

  • Hi Paul, your Movember game is looking strong lol Do you guys have any place to store your petrol in separate cans, or are you exempt because you have a petrol fuel tank on Loon that was grandfathered in? Either way, how much petrol do you hold onboard? Cheers guys. P.S I know it’s a hassle, but we all know Blair spends most of his time on a sun lounger or diving for drones 😉, would it be too much to ask for a 1hr article everyday 😂

  • I love your articles. Incredible team. Commitment, expertise, discipline, hygiene = quality and performance throughout. Your new chase boat had a prominent feature focus reminding me of something happening to me a couple of years ago at Black’s Beach in Southern California. I met one of the most unexpected and unforgiving creatures of maritime. life, also known.as Mr. Manta. I carry his venom in my body since it happened for better, not worse. There are many anecdotes. If true, my case was helped. by being naked and not all lubed up in chemistry. Nothing threatening the maritime environment ever dumped from a boat. How can I put this now to elevate it from. random myth to relevant? There are still many things we don’t know and I will say this as a very level headed and pragmatic German doctor. May be common. sense can help. this one. POWER BOAT DEEP. SEA. FISHING. Don’t make it a big point. Save journeys on all your future travel, Sincerely, Dr. Joerg Strate

  • ❤😂!! Brilliant content again as usual!👏👏👏 As for EV power on where you live. It’s not advisable (not being negative)the batteries hate the cold and drain mega with ie, heating, aircon, lights etc. Also when you’re stuck flat batteries (especially where you live!) The EV vehicles CANNOT BE TOAD WHAT EVER HAPPENS! (WARRANTY IS VOID) Getting a flat bed up there in snow? Have a laugh! Then there is Alley & Leo or maybe all three in there! They’re too new and not proven on your torain lifestyle!!👍👌 Not safe!! Stick to the diesel, safe at half the cost! Regards, Ian, Yorkshire, uk (Tesla owner)😂😂

  • Pretty bad when you have to sell a yacht to buy a chase boat. Super boat, I’d be nice to see what the other charter yachts are using. Having watched most if not all the articles, you can see how the constant upgrading keeps the experience and the boat fresh over the years. You see articles of some of the older boats for sale and they are like a 70’s bungalow complete with the orange shag carpet, and the brown panelling in the downstairs rumpus room. Relatively speaking, lol.
