Should I Invest In Norwegian Cruise Lines?

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCLH) is a cruise line operator that focuses on smart ROI-driven investments and digital innovations to maximize guest satisfaction and operational efficiency. The company’s market capitalization is currently at $1,050. However, the pandemic has severely impacted Norwegian Cruise Line and other cruise line operators, with some outbreaks in 2020 involving outbreaks of the virus.

NCLH stock has rallied by about 11% over the last five trading days, outperforming the SP 500 by 2.7%. A PE ratio of less than 20 is generally considered good, and a value under 20 is generally considered good. While the shares are down this year, they are not sufficiently low to offer attractive value for investors.

NCLH is currently sporting a Zacks Rank of 2 (Buy), as well as a general good trend. Short-term signals and a general good trend are positive, and it seems that the current trend is positive. However, when it comes to cruise line stocks, it seems that Norwegian Cruise Line (NCLH 0.60%) is the Rodney Dangerfield of the shipyard.

Based on recent news and key financial metrics, it is recommended to hold Norwegian Cruise Line. Investing in Carnival and Norwegian Cruise Lines is a question of timing, and any stock investment is a matter of timing.

Will NCLH ever recover?

At one point, investors thought the cruise lines would never fully recover. Now, Norwegian just reported a year where total revenue of $8.5 billion topped 2019 levels by 32% due in part to an 18% capacity increase from adding 3 new ships in 2023.

Is it good to buy cruise stock now?

Momentum is a tailwind pushing cruise line stocks into kinder waters. Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Norwegian announced record advance bookings and customer deposits in their latest financial updates. The pandemic was brutal for the industry, but it has come back even stronger. Why is Norwegian Cruise Line stock so cheap?

Debt weighing on valuation As I will discuss in the next section, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings is a cheap investment in the cruise line sector, and the reason for this is likely the company’s large debt burden it carries on its balance sheet.

  • I agree with your thesis with cruises, too many boomers nearing retirement with excess capital that they love to spend on cruises/gambling. I know you’re not a fan of Reits with the current interest rate environment. However could you make an exception for Vici since it’s a similar type of customer? Or is the interest rate environment that restrictive?
